What city does Kuchin live in? Ivan Leonidovich Kuchin: biography, career and personal life

Born March 13, 1959, Petrovsk-Zabaikalsky, Chita region, USSR - Russian singer-songwriter, poet, composer.

He studied at the art and graphic department of the Ulan-Ude Pedagogical School. He served in the army, in the Transbaikal Military District.

He spent almost the entire period from 1980 to 1993 in prison (a total of 12 years) - he was convicted four times, each time for theft. The first album, “Returning Home,” was recorded in 1985, but was not distributed by the author because it was seized by the police during another arrest. The album was distributed by police officers, and now it is circulating somewhere around the country. After the death of his mother, whom Ivan was unable to bury while in prison, he never went to jail again, and only then began to seriously engage in songwriting.

In 1993, he began recording songs after being released from Abagur Lesnoy (IK-12). He has been performing as a singer-songwriter since 1994; before that, in 1986 he recorded an album, which was sold under different names throughout the territory of the former USSR. About Ivan Leonidovich himself, it is clear to everyone that, then no one knew, there was a misconception that Alexander Novikov was singing these songs.

In 1995 he goes to Moscow. In 1996, he rents an apartment, improves his daily life, marries a young woman (future singer Larisa Kuchina) originally from the Altai Territory and records the album “The Fate of a Thief,” which in 1997 became a sales leader. In 1999, Larisa Kuchina’s solo album “The Branch Broke” was released, the words and music were written by Kuchin, the arrangement was made by him. He divorced his wife, and since about 1999 he has lived with his younger sister Lena, who is the director and manager of a home studio. Ivan lives very secluded, but in recent years he has begun to perform quite often and visits the CIS countries.

In 2001, the patriotic album “Tsar Father” was released.

In 2003, the album “By the Rowan Road” was released, containing 3 new songs and new versions of old ones.

In 2004, the album “Cruel Romance” was released.

On June 7, 2012, Ivan Kuchin’s new album, “Heavenly Flowers,” was released. This is the poet’s first work in more than seven years. Some songs from the record have been played at Ivan Leonidovich’s concerts since 2008. The album was released by Classic Company.

Many residents of our country enjoy listening to chanson. Domestic, Russian chanson is considered the most democratic direction in music: it is capable of intriguing and making completely different audiences fall in love with it. Oddly enough, here everyone finds something of their own, and this “own” is difficult to convey in words. Nevertheless, this musical direction has hundreds of thousands of followers both in Russia and around the world.

    What is chanson?

Chanson is one of the most popular musical styles in Russia. This free style of musical performance migrated to our country from France. In the nineteenth century in the European country, French songs performed in underground cabarets, as well as jazz performances of songs, were at the height of fashion. However, chanson found its reflection on the stage in Russia.

    Famous chanson performers

Among the most famous performers of Russian chanson are singers such as Lyubov Uspenskaya, Mikhail Shufutinsky, Mikhail Krug, Grigory Leps, Elena Vaenga, Sergei Sever, Alexander Rosenbaum, Vika Tsyganova and many others. In 2012, the famous Ivan Kuchin was included in the list of the best performers of Russian chanson. The article provides a biography of Ivan Kuchin. The singer had a difficult path to fame: he had to go through 12 years in prison.

    Ivan Kuchin: biography

A photo of the Russian singer can be seen in this article.

Kuchin Ivan Leonidovich is a Russian composer, author and performer of songs in the Russian chanson genre. The albums that brought fame to the performer appeared 10 years ago, in 1995. Further in the article “Biography of Ivan Kuchin” all stages of the life of the famous musician will be described.

    The singer's childhood

Ivan Kuchin was born on May 13, 1959. The singer’s birthplace was a small town called Petrovsk-Zabaikalsky (near Chita). Ivan was born into an ordinary working-class family: his mother was a railway worker, his father, Leonid Ivanovich, worked as a driver. Ivan Kuchin’s father often drank heavily, so raising the boy fell entirely on the shoulders of his mother, Nina Innokentievna.

    Youth

Young Ivan Kuchin, whose biography is given in this article, entered the pedagogical school in the art and graphic department. He studied in Ulan-Ude. Then Ivan Kuchin joined the army and served in the military district of Transbaikalia.

    Prison years

The very young Ivan Kuchin had a cherished dream: to create his own recording studio. However, unfortunately, it brought the performer to prison: law enforcement officers discovered equipment in Kuchin’s house, which, in turn, was stolen from the local Palace of Culture. It should be noted that the success and current fame of the composer and author of popular songs in the field of chanson were preceded by years of painful imprisonment: the biography of Ivan Kuchin tells that the performer spent almost twelve years in prison. He was sentenced four times! Moreover, all four times Ivan Kuchin was accused under the same article - Article 144.

    First unofficial album

Ivan Kuchin recorded his first album (unofficial) entitled “Returning Home” 30 years ago, in 1985. However, at first he was not destined to reach the masses: the tape was confiscated by law enforcement officers during the arrest of the future chanson star. Later we finally heard about this album. The biography of Ivan Kuchin suggests that the album was distributed by the police officers themselves.

The album that brought Kuchin fame

The albums that brought the performer real fame appeared 20 years ago, in 1995. It was from this moment that Kuchin’s work became widely known. Ivan Kuchin began writing songs seriously after the death of his mother, Nina Innokentievna. The songwriter could not attend the funeral because he was serving time in prison at the time. However, it was from that moment that Kuchin changed his attitude towards life: he no longer went to jail.

Biography of Ivan Kuchin: personal life

The performer of Russian chanson met his future wife, Larisa, at a regular concert in the city of Barnaul. The girl did not miss a single performance of Kuchin. The wedding took place in 1992. In 1996, Ivan Kuchin moved to the capital, or more precisely to a village located not far from Moscow. A little later, the solo album of Ivan’s wife was released (Ivan himself was the author of the words and composer). In ninety-nine, the star couple broke up. From that moment to this day, Ivan Kuchin lives with his younger sister, whose name is Elena and who is also the manager and director of Ivan Kuchin’s studio. It should be noted that the singer lives quite modestly, one might even say, to some extent secluded. No matter how strange it may sound, the star of Russian chanson does not like to be in public: he performs little, does not give concerts in Moscow at all, and has not attended performances by other performers for a long time.

    Song genre

The genre of Ivan Kuchin's works is the author's song, where the main components are words, meaning and plot. The artist and composer works exclusively at home, in his studio, on his new songs. By the way, the songs are also arranged in his home studio; he does it himself. Despite the fact that Ivan Kuchin, while touring, toured not only the whole country, but also many countries of the world, the author and performer of songs never hired “cool” famous producers.

Ivan Kuchin spoke at the TOZ House of Culture. The singer turned the concert into an intimate conversation, in which he openly told the audience about his life.

    CRIMINAL STAR
Chansonnier Ivan Kuchin is well known and loved in Tula, but in 25 years of creative life the artist came to our city for the first time. Tickets costing from 500 to 1,500 rubles sold like hot cakes.
Kuchin arrived in Tula the day before the concert with his sister Elena. She is the director and administrator for Ivan.

The singer sang his hits to Tula and brought four new compositions as a gift.
In the second part of the concert, Ivan Kuchin answered notes from the audience from the audience for about half an hour. The conversation between the chansonnier and the Tula residents turned out to be very frank: Ivan also talked about how he had been in prison four times, that his wife left him, and God never gave him children... Sloboda correspondents have recorded the most interesting questions and answers for you.
    - Ivan, why were you imprisoned?
    - I was imprisoned for theft. There was equipment in our House of Culture. She disappeared and was found with me. Then not only did the equipment disappear, but for some reason it was with me all the time! And like this 4 times (laughs). I ask local sound engineers not to worry - I'm stuck.
    - Ivan, how many tattoos do you have? Show!
    - No, comrades, I won’t show a striptease today (Kuchin playfully shook his finger at the Tula people). Take my word for it - I don’t have any tattoos. Because I'm very afraid of needles: That's probably why I didn't become a drug addict.
    - Have you probably dreamed of a career as a musician since childhood?
    - My head was filled with all sorts of nonsense. But when my mother died, and I could not bury her (I sat), at that moment my soul awakened. Then he began to seriously compose poems and songs. At my meetings, I always ask the audience: when you come home, call your parents, just say a few kind words - before it’s too late... It’s already too late for me, and this wound will not heal.

Chansonnier Ivan KUCHIN captivated Tula residents with soulful songs
    and a disarming open smile!

WHY DOESN'T KUCHIN WANT TO GET MARRIED?
    - Do you have a wife and children?
    - When I had to have children, I was in prison. And when I came out, I came across a woman, Larisa, who didn’t want children. She wanted to get more money and songs from me. And when she cheated me like a sucker, she left for a younger man. Then, however, she asked to go back - well, who will take her? It's too late for me to get married now. This is a sore subject for me:
    - Which artist are you friends with?
    - I don’t know any of the artists. True, I saw Tatyana Bulanova on tour and met Willy Tokarev on the train. I came to his compartment with a bottle of vodka, but he refused to drink with me. From then on, I didn’t approach anyone with a bottle.
    - Why don’t you make videos?
    - Imagine, they show a clip of the respected Sergei Penkin, then a clip of Boris Moiseev, beloved by the people. And between them I am with my “Man in a Padded Jacket”! In blue: No, I don’t agree to this!
    - Did you perform at Rublyovka?
    - I’m not a prostitute and I don’t intend to sell my work for money.

The bravest Tula residents took to the stage to see their loved ones
chansonnier and cheerfully performed the hit “Ordinary”.

P.S. After the concert, Kuchin refused to give anyone an autograph and took a souvenir photo with everyone who wanted it.

    VOICE OF THE PEOPLE
    IVAN KUCHIN HELPES RAISING CHILDREN!

    Olga MALYSHEVA:
    - In 1995, when my son was still in my tummy, Ivan Kuchin’s songs helped me bear him. When my son was born, Kuchin helped me raise him. His songs are close to my soul. I noticed that he and I even dance the same way. I named my son Ivan in honor of my dad. And two men help me raise Vanya: my dad Ivan and Ivan Kuchin! Favorite song - "Ledum".

    Alexander ELENSKY:

Ivan Leonidovich Kuchin (March 13, 1959) is a Russian singer, pop performer and author of many popular songs.

    Childhood

Ivan Leonidovich was born on March 13 in the city of Petrovsk-Zabaikalsky, located in the Chita region. His father, Leonid Ivanovich, worked as an ordinary driver and drove trucks with products from a local company. Mother - Nina Innokentievna - worked at the railway station for a long time.

As a child, Ivan was no different from his peers (except for his rather violent character). He had no creative abilities or talents, he did not like music and everything related to art. The parents believed that when their son grew up, he would choose a “working” profession, becoming either a driver, like his father, or a railway worker, like his mother.

    Youth

After graduating from high school, Ivan Leonidovich decides to leave his hometown. By that time, relations in his family are heating up: his mother begins to constantly accuse his father of lack of finances, and he, experiencing a midlife crisis, disappears all day in repair shops with friends, not neglecting the drink.

Realizing that he does not want such a future for himself, the young man moves to Ulan-Ude, where he almost immediately meets a student at the Pedagogical Institute. In an incredibly short period of time, the comrades become so accustomed to each other that Ivan Kuchin also decides to enter the Pedagogical School, but, unlike his friend, chooses an art and graphic direction.

Ivan’s student years and training are a stretch. At first, he tries to improve his skills, even tries to draw his own paintings. But after a few months it becomes clear that, under the influence of friendship, the young man did not go where he needed to go. Ivan quarrels with his friend, blaming him for his own mistake, and leaves the department.

    Prison years

In 1978, Ivan Kuchin was caught stealing for the first time. The young man, unable to get a job without a higher education, begins to make a living by robbing passers-by and small shops in the city. At first, he tries not to attract attention to himself and endure only small things, but then the desire for real wealth awakens, and Kuchin commits the first theft in his life, for which he ends up behind bars for a month. Between 1978 and 1980, he was released and returned to prison twice more, constantly getting caught stealing.

In 1980, Ivan Kuchin was once again caught for fraud along with a group of accomplices. The court decides that the robber must still serve a more serious sentence, otherwise the relapse will occur again. And Kuchin went to jail until 1993. By the way, it is in prison that he learns that his mother has died. Realizing that he will not be able to even bury her, the future singer is in such despair that he repents of everything he has done and vows never to steal again.

    Career

His first album was recorded back in 1985. At that time, the singer-songwriter was still serving a sentence in prison, so the songs he wrote were confiscated and subsequently distributed only through police officers and resellers. At the same time, no one knew about Kuchina himself, and Alexander Novikov was listed as the author of the album for a long time.

Since 1993, a steady rise in the performer’s career began. First he moves to Moscow, where he rents an apartment, then begins to record albums one after another. By 1996, the album “The Fate of a Thief” was released, which was destined to become incredibly popular in record time and bring its owner considerable fame. Between 2001 and 2004, Ivan Kuchin released three more successful albums: “Tsar Father”, “Rowan on the Road” and “Cruel Romance”.

    Personal life

In 1996, singer-songwriter Ivan Leonidovich married aspiring singer Larisa Kuchina, for whom he would later write lyrics and arrange songs. The couple moves to the center of Moscow and begins a stable family life. At the moment, the Kuchins have no children.

Ivan Kuchin was born on March 13, 1959 in Petrozabaikalsk. Ivan Kuchin says: I went to jail once, then a second, a third, a fourth: I don’t know how long it would have lasted. But when my mother died, and I could not bury her, at that moment my soul awakened, and I began to understand that I had already become an adult for the rest of my days, that I had no one else to rely on, that my loved one was no longer with me person. That’s when I began to write poems and songs in earnest (and not as before - in fits and starts!). So, I had a dream and wrote the song “Dream”. I never thought that I would go on stage, I just felt a spiritual need to sing. At my meetings, I always ask the audience: when you come home, call your parents, just say a few kind words - before it’s too late. And now it’s too late for me:

I cheated for 12 years. But it’s not something I’m proud of. It’s just that every person, especially in his youth, makes mistakes: I made them for 12 years. I sat because of my youth and stupidity. He didn’t kill anyone, didn’t rape anyone, didn’t throw his grandmother into a well, but he whistled the equipment in the cultural center: Article one - 144th, all 4 times. I had a dream - to make my own studio and record music.

I got married, life went smoothly, and the wounds began to heal. But when I meet with the audience, record, compose, the memories again fall like an avalanche:

Three years ago I moved from Barnaul to Moscow. My wife and I live there quite secluded. I work hard in my home studio, recording my albums myself. I don’t go out anywhere again (I don’t have a car). I don’t perform in Moscow, I don’t go to concerts of other artists. The first album, recorded in 1985, was not specifically distributed, but was confiscated by the police during the next arrest. The police distributed it.

Every person who finds himself in a place that is not so remote is faced with a choice: either go up or down. There is no average there. Of course, many people go down, but many go up! They begin to assert themselves and express themselves. One goes to the library, another is engaged in wood carving, the third draws pictures, the fourth sings and composes. Believe me, I saw such cool poems, heard such songs: Of course, the majority were released and plunged into real life, abandoned these poems and songs. But I didn’t quit. I recorded my songs on a tape recorder at the request of my friends and wife. I didn't count on anything in particular. Well, then the listeners had questions: “Where is this Kuchin? Who is he? Maybe an emigrant or a completely unreal person?” And in 1997 I started performing on stage. At first it was very active, but now less often. About once a month I go on stage and call it not a concert, but a meeting with the audience. I'm not a clown, but an artist...

Once they told me: “You are so talented just because you wrote the song “And in the tavern a violin is quietly crying.” But, sorry, this is complete nonsense. “Tavern,” I’m sure, sounds in everyone’s head at a birthday party, wedding. the moment when a man drinks and gets better, then he always raises toasts to love, friendship, parents, and I just wrote down these words, feelings and sang them. Someone lost their mother, someone else has what kind of grief happened - every person experiences , and the one who worries is also a poet...
