According to the McQuay company itself, it has been on the market for more than 100 years and successfully sells its products to both ordinary users and various companies. The firm began its successful activities in 1872 under the name J & E Hall, manufacturing and selling refrigeration and freezing equipment. She later acquired this brand. The official founding date of the company can be considered 1933, it was then that the McVay company was born. After that, she began to supply, as well as service various equipment for air conditioning, ventilation and heating systems, besides producing heat exchangers and radiators.

To date, the company produces various air conditioning systems, both for ordinary domestic purposes, standard rooms from 15 to 30 square meters. meters, and for semi-industrial, with a much larger coverage, over 100 square meters.

In total, there are about 13 model ranges of air conditioners, all of them have standard sets of functions and modes of operation, but at the same time, there are 2 main lines among them, which are distinguished by the company itself.

    inverter air conditioners

Everything is clear here for those who have ever encountered this topic. Their main difference from non-inverter ones is that at the moment when the temperature reaches the required one, the compressor continues its operation, but in reduced power mode, thereby constantly maintaining the temperature in the room very accurately. Such air conditioners have a special control unit, which is responsible for maintaining the temperature.

The noise level of these air conditioners is usually an order of magnitude lower, because it only needs to set the required temperature in the room, working at high power, after which the noise level will drop to a minimum, because this is the principle of inverter air conditioners.

Split systems "McVay" of the inverter type are divided into two series: "for home and office" and "business series". The first have three necessary modes: standard, turbo mode for heating or cooling and comfortable sleep mode, as well as a very low noise level, only 21 dB, as well as 5 speeds to choose from. The area of the refrigerated room varies from 10 to 25 square meters, depending on the model.

"Business Series" has a wider range of operating temperatures, while it is quite convenient to install and repair, has high energy efficiency and low noise level.

In addition to inverter air conditioners, this company also has ordinary ones, which have a more pleasant price, but also more modest functionality.

    Series On/Off

This line contains simple non-inverter air conditioners with low power consumption and high performance. The company produces under this brand air conditioners of the following types:

    • Wall systems- ordinary split systems that do not have any special functions. Basically, this is a standard set of modes that the manufacturer provides on all lines.
    • Cassette systems- These are air conditioners built into the false ceiling. Can automatically distribute air in four directions. They have a built-in drain pump that allows you to drain condensate into the drainage system. And they have the function of supplying fresh air.
    • Universal Models- designed for various installation methods: floor or ceiling. Also, like the cassette, it has the function of supplying fresh air from the street.
    • Channel models- have an advantage, since they are built into the design of the false ceiling, only air distribution grilles remain, they can be installed in any interior, because the grilles are selected separately, they have a fairly simple connection scheme. There is also an option for high-pressure duct models with increased air flow.

It is worth noting that the air conditioners of this brand have good performance characteristics. Repairing air conditioners, replacing filters, cleaning them is quite simple even if you do it yourself. If you suddenly need to find any board, filter or other spare part, but you can’t do it on your own, then you can contact the company’s technical support, order and buy the necessary spare parts.

Comparison of characteristics of popular models

Basically, almost all models of air conditioning systems from the McVay company are in great demand, because this is a really advantageous offer in terms of price and quality. Among all the best-selling models, there are several of the most popular and best-selling ones, they are provided in a comparative table indicating the characteristics below:

    Model m5lc028cr mlc010cr m5wm10jr

    average cost 45,000 - 55,000 rubles 20 000 rubles 22 000 rubles

The first air conditioner is bought on such a scale for office space, as well as for small industries. The other two are the best solutions for apartments. This air conditioner can be hung in the living room or room, and it will fit perfectly into the interior.

Also, it can often be found in many office premises, because the installation of this model is quite profitable both in terms of the price itself and in terms of the operational period, which, unlike competitors, is an order of magnitude longer, primarily due to the quality of materials and workmanship .

    Difference from competitors and features

Split systems McQuay differ from their competitors in the quality of workmanship, the quality of the materials used in the equipment. Designed to last, these air conditioners are designed exactly the way you want them to be.

If you make a list, you can distinguish the following main features of the devices of this brand from the rest:

    • Quality of workmanship - As already described above, the materials used in these products are usually an order of magnitude better than those of competitors, because the goal of McQuay from its very beginning is to maintain quality.
    • Number of modes - in addition to the basic, standard modes, systems from this company also have additional ones, for example, night mode, or turbo mode, these modes are rarely found in air conditioners of this price segment.
    • Convenience features - automatic operation modes, restart after power failure, self-diagnosis function and hot start, all this is a standard set of functions, expanding with each new model. You can choose the set of functions that you specifically need.
    • Various control panels - there are a large number of control panels from the simplest ones that have the main functions of switching on, temperature, to special network remote controls that allow you to set the time and accurate temperatures. Remotes of different series fit together, and there are both wired and wireless versions.

Instructions for the remote control and McQuay air conditioners

Each conditioner is completed with the instruction for application and the panel for the conditioner. Using the remote control, you can fully customize the device for yourself: turning it on, turning it off, cooling temperature, and if it's winter outside, then blowing heat.

You can also purchase a spare remote control that will use the same communication channel with the air conditioner if the main one is suddenly lost or completely broken. It will have the same functionality, help you adjust the temperature for yourself.

The instruction for controlling the air conditioner from the remote control is simple and the principle of its use will be clear even to a child:

    • On and off button - usually located in the upper left corner, is responsible for starting the air conditioner.
    • Temperature mode - usually two arrows up and down, increase or decrease the temperature that needs to be set in the room.
    • Fan power - the speed at which the air will be cooled, the noise level will depend on this.
    • Mode selection - sleep, turbo, etc. Sets the required mode to be supported.

But before using it, it’s still worth reading the manual, because some models may have a certain thermal regime in which they can start, or perhaps even the control is implemented in a slightly different way.

Error codes for McQuay air conditioners

Unfortunately, malfunctions can still occur during operation. Since all air conditioners of this brand have a self-diagnosis system, you can determine what happened. In case of an error, a certain code will be displayed on the display, and the light on the module itself will blink in a certain sequence, also indicating a certain code (depending on the models, they may vary).

What to do if the air conditioning has stopped, you can no longer set the parameters on the remote control, and the lights on the air conditioner are blinking? You need to look for what this code means, because the problem may lie both in an incorrect setting and in a malfunction of the outdoor unit.
