Vernee Thor E - Specifications. Review and testing of the smartphone Vernee Thor E: focusing on autonomy Vernee Thor

A smartphone with a 5020mAh battery, stock Android 7.0 and a $ 120 price tag sounds extremely tempting. In the review I will tell you whether everything is so good or the buyer is waiting for a catch.

    Equipment

Vernee Thor E comes in a plain white box.

Inside is the device itself, paper documentation, a power supply, a USB cable and a paper clip. Two films are glued on the screen at once: the transport film and the usual protective one under it.

    Appearance

Vernee Thor E looks stern, to be blunt - not a woman's smartphone.

    It measures 144 x 70.1 x 8.2 mm and weighs 149 grams.

The model is available in two colors: black and gray. In this case, only the back side changes color, and the front side is always black.

Unlike most modern smartphones, Thor E has a slightly recessed screen inside the case, which should make it easier to glue the protective glass. At the top of the front panel there is an LED for missed events, proximity and light sensors, an earpiece and a front camera. Under the screen there are three touch-sensitive keys, they are hardware keys, but they do not have a backlight, which at first complicates the work with the smartphone.

On the right side there are power and volume keys. They are located at a comfortable height, with the right hand gripping the thumb between them.

On the left is a combined tray, which can accommodate either two nanoSIM format SIM cards, or one nanoSIM and a memory card.

There is a key under the tray that enables the E-ink mode.

At the top there is a 3.5 mm audio jack, and the bottom is a microUSB port and a main microphone.

The back is covered with a plastic insert that imitates brushed aluminum. At the top is the main camera lens and a single LED flash, and a little below the fingerprint scanner. He works quickly and there are no complaints about his work.

At the very bottom of the phone is the multimedia speaker. The speaker is of average quality, it is loud, even at maximum volume it does not wheeze, but there are no low frequencies at all. It is enough to hear the challenge.

    The convenience of use

The case of the Vernee Thor E is tough, even though it is plastic. It does not creak or play, because there are no collapsible parts, except for the SIM card slot.

After two weeks of careful use, a lot of scratches appeared on the protective film, which greatly spoils the appearance of the smartphone. The back side collects fingerprints, but they are visible only from a certain angle. Otherwise, there are no comments on the case.

From the settings, it is worth highlighting the software ability to replace the "recent applications" and "back" buttons, as well as replacing these keys with the usual ones on the screen.

Not without the use of gestures. If drawing letters on the off screen to quickly launch applications does not seem to be the most convenient function, then activating the display with a double tap does not hurt.

    Display

Vernee Thor E is equipped with a 5-inch IPS screen with HD resolution. There is an automatic key adjustment and a night mode. Having removed the protective film, it became clear that there was no oleophobic coating on the screen.

In sunny weather, under direct light, the picture on the screen fades a lot and becomes almost unreadable.

The minimum brightness is too high for using the smartphone at night. Comparing the screen to my Moto X Style, the Thor E looks colder and lacks contrast and saturation. Of course, this comparison is not correct due to the fact that smartphones are from different price categories, but there are already inexpensive phones with good screens.

It is possible to customize the screen for yourself using MIraVision, but anyway, you won't be able to achieve a similar Moto X (for example) picture even by conjuring with the settings sliders.

    E-ink mode

In this mode, the colors on the screen are displayed in black and white and only 5 applications are available, including “Phone”, “Messages” and any three others.

The manufacturer promises that in E-ink mode the smartphone will work per day by spending only 20% of the battery capacity. I did not check this statement, as in such conditions, the meaning of using a smartphone is lost.

    Hardware platform

Vernee Thor E is powered by MediaTek MT6753 processor. Inside are eight ARM A53 cores, which are capable of operating at a frequency of 1.5 GHz. Responsible for the graphics Mali-T720. The amount of RAM is 3 GB.

It makes no sense to talk a lot about the performance of the MediaTek MT6753, since this is an extremely common chip.

The power is enough for everyday use if you are not a spoiled user. It is not suitable for demanding games, but it copes with arcades. For example, War Robots takes a long time to load, but there are no freezes in the game.

The device supports FDD LTE: 1/3/7/20. Unfortunately, there is no 802.11 ac Wi-Fi support. Finding satellites without using mobile data is fast. There are no complaints about the quality of network reception. The volume of the spoken speaker is high, and none of the interlocutors complained about the microphone.

    Interface

The official website states that Vernee Thor E runs stock Android 7.0. Yes, the interface is stock, except that the default TouchPal keyboard is preinstalled, which cannot be removed so easily. Screenshots of the interface under the spoiler.

    Spoiler

Otherwise, it's still the same Android 7.0, which many will like.

    Autonomy

One of the phone's specialties is the large battery capacity - 5020 mAh. Fast charging supported. The complete power supply unit can operate in several modes - 5/7/9 V at a current of 2 A and 12 V at a current of 1.5 A. The time for a full charge is about 2 hours and 30 minutes.

With the usual use of a smartphone with one SIM-card in the 3G network, almost always on Wi-Fi, a short time playing War Robots, the operating time was only 1 day 16 hours. The active screen time with automatic brightness was 5 hours and 30 minutes.

Looking at the statistics of battery usage, you can see that the "Active mode" did not stop at all. This is not normal and indicates that even after turning off the phone screen, it does not "fall asleep", but is actively doing something. As they say, here's to you and stock Android 7.0. What haunts the smartphone is not clear, but such work is not normal.

In the synthetic test PCMark Work 2.0 battery life at 50% brightness, the device worked for 10 hours 32 minutes. This is not the most outstanding result.

    Cameras

Vernee Thor E is equipped with an 8 megapixel main camera (software increased to 13 megapixel) and a 2 megapixel front camera (software increased to 5 megapixel). The main camera is equipped with a single LED flash. The interface of the camera application is minimalistic, but there is an HDR mode.

The camera does not meet modern requirements. The pictures are noisy, often with the wrong white balance, in the dark it is easier not to take pictures at all, as the result will be unsatisfactory. HDR does not work correctly. In it, the sky is often not blue, but some kind of purple.

    conclusions

Vernee Thor E is an interesting smartphone, both in terms of characteristics and price, but in reality everything is somewhat different. The main "feature" of the device - a capacious 5020 mAh battery could not prove itself due to the "crooked" software that prevents the phone from going into standby mode. In such conditions, a battery of any capacity will not be a panacea for low-quality software. There are complaints about the quality of the screen, because it is difficult to use a smartphone in bright sunlight. Smartphone cameras are more of an add-on. They are not good for anything and it will take a lot of work to get a good picture.

    Introduction

Last year, one of the Chinese companies offered a smartphone called Thor for review. Frankly, I was skeptical, since the brand is completely unknown, the technical characteristics are not bad, and the price is suspiciously low. As a result, after the review, the gadget passed all the tests and now it has been "living" with my relative for more than six months: Thor works, does not slow down, does not buggy and receives updates.

Venree has announced another Thor, only with the prefix E. The novelty has received a different look and, most importantly, a more capacious 5000 mAh battery. Now the gadget is easy to find from about $ 100, that is, only from 6,000 rubles. It seems to me that buying a smartphone with Android 7.0, 8 cores, 3 GB of RAM, LTE and 5000 mAh is very good.

    Design, dimensions, controls

From the point of view of appearance, the Thor E does not give the impression of something new and original (in fact, like almost any Chinese device). On the other hand, it is inexpensive, therefore forgivable.

The shape of the body is rectangular, the edges are not sharp, the side edges are even with slight bevels along the edges. The reverse side has sloping edges. Above and below there are traditional plastic inserts in the color of the case, and the central part is made of brushed metal, rough to the touch. There is another decorative elongated (rectangular) transparent plastic panel with horizontal stripes on the back top.

The matrix is protected by tempered glass (the manufacturer does not specify which one), an oleophobic layer is applied on top to prevent the appearance of fingerprints. The finger glides easily. In the kit you will receive a film on the screen.

The gadget is quite compact and light - 144 x 70.1 x 8.2 mm and 149 grams, fits well in the hand, does not slip out.

Vernee is sold in two colors: black and gray. Not very funny, but the gadget, it seems to me, will definitely not be taken because of its appearance.

Despite the simple design, the Thor E smartphone is assembled very high quality: no backlash, squeaks, cracks when squeezed - a tightly knit gadget.

The following elements are located on the top of the front panel: an indicator of missed events (visible from all angles of inclination of the device), sensors, a speaker. The speaker has an average volume, the interlocutor is heard clearly and legibly, there were no problems. You can be heard quietly, but in general it will do. The light and proximity sensors are functioning properly.

Under the display there are touch buttons: in the center - a round "Home", on the left - a call to the menu or previously launched applications, and on the right - "Back". Unfortunately, there is no backlight. In the settings, it is easy to turn on the on-screen buttons, as well as swap the touch ones.

Below you can find a microphone and a microUSB connector. Strange that not USB type C ...

On the right are the power button and volume rocker. They are almost recessed into the body, but they are easy to work with: clear and soft pressing, small stroke. On the left is a metal slide for a combined slot (nanoSIM + nanoSIM or nano + microSD) without any special features and an additional button for switching the phone to power saving mode.

At the top there is only a 3.5 mm headphone jack.

On the reverse side there is a square-shaped camera lens and a flash, and just below it is a fingerprint scanner (360-degree recognition, 0.1 s speed, 5 fingers), a speakerphone.

    Display

This device uses a 5-inch screen. The physical size is 62x110 mm, the frame at the top is 11 mm, at the bottom - 12 mm, on the right and left - about 4.5 mm each. There is an anti-reflective coating, which is quite effective.

Vernee's Thor display resolution is HD, that is, 720x1280 pixels, aspect ratio - 16: 9, density - 293 pixels per inch. Oncell LTPS die without air gap.

The maximum white brightness is 340 cd / m2, the maximum black brightness is 0.23 cd / m2, the contrast is almost 1500: 1.

The brightness graph is within normal limits, the gamma is excellent around 2.15, in terms of color levels - everything is super, the temperature does not fluctuate at all. From the sRGB triangle, colors should be somewhat washed out, especially in dark greens and dark blues. Interestingly, the grays are correct! This is extremely rare.

The Vernee Thor matrix has good performance, the only drawback: the blue and green colors will not be as saturated as we would like.

    Battery

This model uses a non-removable lithium polymer (Li-Pol) battery with a capacity of 5020 mAh.

The manufacturer gives the following figures:

    • 18 hours of video playback
    • 36 hours of calls
    • 72 hours in normal use
    • 720 hours standby time

In my mode of operation, the gadget functioned for 1.5 days: an hour of calls, constant synchronization with Wi-Fi (every day from 9.00 to 01.00, Twitter, mail, Skype, Whatsapp), 4-6 hours of LTE. Screen glow in this mode - up to 5 hours.

With games, the situation is a little worse: the battery runs out after 5 hours of continuous "battle". The video device "spins" for about 11 hours (HD).

Most likely, the new firmware will increase the operating time.

In the kit you will find a “fast charger” that can charge a 5000 mAh battery up to 100% in just 1 hour and 30 minutes!

There is a mode for displaying information in b / w version (called E-Ink), but I see no point in it, since here is an IPS matrix, not AMOLED.

    Communication capabilities

The device works not only in 2G / 3G networks, but also 4G CAT 6:

    • 2G: GSM 900/1900 / 2100MHz
    • 3G: WCDMA 900 / 2100MHz
    • 4G: FDD-LTE 800/1800/2100 / 2600MHz

In the settings, you can select the Turbo mode, in which not only the 4G network will be used to download "heavy" files, but also Wi-Fi at the same time.

There is Wi-Fi standard b / g / n 2.4 / 5 GHz, Bluetooth version 4.0, OTG. In addition, the device can charge other devices, acting as a portable Powerbank. The smartphone sees both GPS and GLONASS. Satellites are determined very quickly, accurately, but the sensitivity floats from 6 to 18 satellites.

    Memory and memory card

Surprisingly, for just 6,000 rubles, you can still find a decent smartphone with three gigabytes of LPDDR3 RAM. Naturally, this amount of RAM is enough for all the tasks that such a device should cope with. The built-in memory is 16 GB, which means that you will have to take a memory card anyway. The maximum size is 128 GB.

    Cameras

Two cameras: main 13 MP (real resolution 8 MP, aperture F2.6), front 5 MP (real resolution 2 MP, F2.1). The flash is one color.

I liked the main camera: fast, accurate, low-noise, beautifully "draws" colors. In general, for her $ 100, she fulfills 100% quality.

Video records in FullHD resolution at 30 frames regardless of the lighting level. The quality of the clips is normal, the exposure changes in jumps, the sound is so-so (loud, but not very high-quality). Night videos are too dark, but there is no noise and artifacts.

The front camera shoots satisfactorily. The videos are released in a resolution of only 640x480 at 30 FPS.

    Sample photos

    Performance

The device is built on a 64-bit 8-core chipset from the Taiwanese company MediaTek - MT6753. ARM Cortex-A53 processor (28 nm), clock speed of each core - 1.5 GHz. ARM Mali-T720 is used as graphics.

If there are no questions about the speed of animation and the general operation of the device, then not everything is so good with games: many of them run only at medium or even low settings, there are no certain animations and textures, there are slowdowns.

Not entirely new, but a very interesting smartphone in the budget segment with a capacious 5020mAh battery, with its own pros and cons. Of course I expected more from a smartphone, but it's not that bad either. Specifications Vernee Thor E

Smartphone screen: 5 ", IPS-matrix, resolution 1280x720, 294 PPi Processor: MediaTek MT6753 1.3 GHz 8 cores Graphics accelerator: ARM Mali-720 MP3 RAM: 3 GB LPDDR3 ROM: 16 GB with support for cards up to 128 GB Number of SIM cards: 2 Fingerprint scanner: present Cameras: front 5MP, rear camera 13MP Body material: aluminum and plastic Weight: promise 149 g, be sure to check :) Color: gray, black Battery: 5,020 mAh, non-removable, 9V / 2A, fast charge OS: Android 7.0 Nougat

Vernee Thor E is delivered in a completely inconspicuous white box.

Vernee Thor E package bundle: the smartphone itself; Charger; usb-microusb cable; paper clip from the tray; instruction

Charger 9V / 2A. With our own plug, without adapters.

I was not waiting for a smartphone alone, we did it together with the waiting, so much more fun

On the back side, they initially pasted a film with the name and signed what is where in this smartphone

The back cover is made of aluminum, and there are two small plastic inserts, it collects prints, but not much. Looks pretty stylish.

On the left there is a slot for two NANO SIM and a memory card, again the tray is combined. Taking into account the fact that the memory in the smartphone is 16 GB, a separate slot for a memory card would not be superfluous, especially for the murder of the XIAOMI REDMI 4X. But apparently this is not so easy to do technically, keeping the same dimensions.

Below is a microUSB connector and a microphone hole

Above, in splendid isolation, look at us with a headset connector.

On the right are the buttons, power and volume rocker

Below are three touch-sensitive buttons without backlighting, for some reason, when ordering, I thought that there would be on-screen buttons, like other Vernee models. I think this is a huge plus.

The fingerprint sensor and the main camera with flash are in their usual place, though they are interestingly designed, placed on a separate panel. This outwardly differs from Xiaomi smartphones.

At the bottom is the main speaker, which is quite loud, it will work for ringtones, there is not enough low frequencies. For this price category, this is normal in principle. The situation is slightly better in headphones.

Also near the tray with SIM cards is the chip of this smartphone, the E-INK button. This is a power saving mode that turns off most of the functions in the smartphone and turns the display to black and white.

Here's a little bit of information about this mode:

E-Ink is a technology that is designed to mimic text on paper due to the underlying physical electrophoresis process, so that the device consumes much less energy and does not affect our vision as badly as, for example, liquid crystal displays. Thus, e-paper is very similar to a conventional printed book and attracts buyers with this property.

It is really more convenient to read, the eyes do not get tired. Previously, it was because of this that I tried not to read especially, my eyes got tired. But using this mode just to save energy is somehow annoying, it is not very convenient to use applications. Calls only.

On the front side at the top there is a front camera, an event indicator, a proximity sensor and an earpiece.

    Ergonomics Vernee

The smartphone is very comfortable in the hand due to its compact size, as for many it is the most optimal size. Thor E is rectangular with sharp edges.

The length is about 143 mm by 70 mm and 8.5 mm with a real weight of 163 g. Yes, we were also a little deceived here, by 14 grams of whole, not weighed, but outweighed :) Although the smartphone does not feel heavy in the hand, so as not to find fault, it could and not notice the difference in weight.

Comparison with Xiaomi Redmi 4X, which Vernee promise to kill :)

The Vernee Thor screen is typical of low-cost smartphones with a resolution of 1280 x 720 and 294 ppi. The screen has good uniform backlighting, fairly natural color rendition, without any bluishness or yellowness. And plus or not it is difficult to judge, the glass is not 2.5D, as everyone has become accustomed to recently. Touch for 5 touches. The display reads well in the sun.

Here are the main screenshots of the system interface

The smartphone has 16 GB of its memory, of which only 10 are available to us, which is simply disgrace by modern standards. Especially in light of the fact that we still have to choose to expand the memory or use two SIM cards.

An interesting solution is gesture control, or rather the ability to turn on the flashlight with the V gesture, and turn on the camera with the O gesture. By gesture, we mean moving your finger across the screen.

The fingerprint scanner, as promised by the manufacturer, is quite smart, recognition is almost instantaneous, without errors. This part is quite pleasing. True, there is no way to assign a fingerprint to an action other than unlocking.

Installing TWRP and SuperSU on Vernee Thor E

Installing TWRP, as well as flashing, is not so difficult with certain knowledge, many may not need it, but I'm already used to using TWRP, it's very convenient to make a copy, flash, reset to factory settings.

    1) You can download everything separately that you need on w3bsit3-dns.com, or I uploaded everything in one archive to Yandex disk. There is a flasher and TWRP and drivers. https://yadi.sk/d/Pn9cuhqQ3Kor8z
    2) Unpack install drivers if not installed. Not to be confused with ADB drivers. Upload the SuperSU archive to a USB flash drive or internal memory of a smartphone for further installation

    3) Open Flash Tools and add scatter from the recovery folder.
    4) Select Download mode.
    5) Click the Download button.
    6) We connect the switched off smartphone
    7) We are waiting for a check mark for the end of the process.
    8) Disconnect USB. We do not turn on the phone. Hold Volume Up + Power until a selection appears. Volume Up, select recovery and press Volume Down.
Select ExtraDS / SD Card through the Install Zip menu and install SuperSU.

The firmware itself is installed in the same way, only you need to select the scatter file from the firmware folder, uncheck the preloader (this is a bootloader, it is not recommended to sew it unnecessarily) and then points 4,5,6,7

You do everything at your own expense and risk, I am not responsible. Not sure, do not even try so as not to get a brick later instead of a smartphone.

    Supported frequencies Vernee Thor E

Unlike other renowned manufacturers, there is Band 20, the frequency that is used in Russia

I did not find the code on how to get into the engineering menu, but there is a sure way - download Mobileuncle MTK Tools.
For the full functioning of the program, root user rights are required. For MTK processors only !!! Or go to the playmarket and type the engineering menu in the search engine, and you will see many applications that will give access to it, where root rights are not required.

Hour of playing in Asphalt 8, the flight is normal. True, the heating of the back cover is felt

The PC Mark test showed the following results

    Vernee Thor E Cameras

The cameras in the smartphone are two main ones at 8MP and a front one at 2MP, but as always interpolation to 13 and 5. Why do this in general, I can't understand with my mind, if there are 8, then let it stay that way. It seems to me to expect miracles from cameras in the device for this price is not worth it, especially night photos, but in daylight we will check

The camera is clearly worse than in the Xiaomi Redmi 4X, and it's not about the pixels. Here the color rendition, focusing, white balance are lame. Above are the best photos that I managed to select for review. For a photo lover, I would not recommend a smartphone.

    Communication quality and wireless interfaces

I and my interlocutors did not have any complaints about the quality of communication, I can hear it clearly. On the first firmware, people had complaints about the microphone, but the manufacturer here quickly corrected his jamb.

There were no problems with the search for satellites; I found them pretty quickly with the disconnection of data transmission. Although I thought this processor might have problems with navigation.

Vernee Thor E still left more positive emotions than disappointed. Good quality materials, not easily soiled body. The amount of RAM is enough for all daily tasks, a simple user. In general, it turned out to be a good state employee, but for me personally, there are no critical shortcomings in the smartphone. Well, the optimal screen size for many. And it's worth mentioning separately the accurate and responsive fingerprint scanner.

For a non-demanding user who wants a smartphone with good battery life, this is a great option.

Each may have its own pros and cons, but I have identified the following for myself.

    Pros of Vernee Thor:
    build quality,
    good price,
    pure Android 7.0,
    3 GB of RAM.
    Battery 5020mAh
    fingerprint scanner

    Cons of Vernee Thor:
    both cameras,

Well, if you still need the perfect smartphone, then the cost will be at least three times more expensive, and there will still be drawbacks there, you just need to decide what you need to get from the smartphone and choose from your requirements.

Good day to all. I want to present you with an overview of my recent purchase - a Vernee Thor E smartphone with a 5020 mAh battery, as well as a comparison of the test results of Vernee Thor E with my Xiaomi Redmi 4 (version 2/16). I ask everyone who is interested under the cat.

The GearBest store had a promotion for the sale of Vernee Thor E for $ 99.99. I decided to order this smartphone and make a review on it.
The order was placed and paid on 06/15/2017. After 2 days, on June 17, the store sent an email with information about the sending of the smartphone by Dutch post and provided a track number for tracking. My package was tracked to put it mildly - not very good, and then only until the moment when it was sent from China to Ukraine. 41 days have passed from the moment of payment to the moment of receipt. Honestly, after the New Mail from which the parcels reach in 10-15 days, 41 days seemed to me a very long delivery time and I began to prepare for the opening of the dispute. But fortunately, everything worked out and the package arrived.

    Order and delivery

The package was an ordinary cellophane mail bag, which contained a box with a smartphone. Any protection in the form of a "pimple" or something similar was completely absent. Moreover, the box itself with the smartphone inside the bag was with a lid not sealed with stickers. In general, I did not like the packaging, as they say - at all.

    Appearance. Screen.
My Vernee Thor E is black. The body is made of plastic, the back cover is made of brushed aluminum. The top and bottom of the back cover are also made of plastic. Out of the box, a protective film is glued on the smartphone screen, on the back cover there is a factory shipping film with an attached IMEI.

On the front side of the smartphone there are:
    - above the display - a speaker grill, proximity and lighting sensors, a three-color event indicator;

    - below the display - touch buttons without backlight.

On the right side of the case are: a double volume control button and a smartphone power button.

On the left side of the case there are: a pull-out SIM-tray, a button for turning on the E-Ink mode

As a matter of fact, the "E-Ink" mode is more of a marketing ploy. In this mode, the display screen becomes monochrome and some functions of the smartphone are disabled. This is the power saving mode.

    Pseudo E-Ink

On the top edge of the case there is a headset connector.

On the bottom edge of the case are: a microphone hole and a micro usb connector.

    The back cover contains:
Above - the camera, flash LED, and a little below the fingerprint sensor.

Bottom is a polyphonic speaker hole. The quality of the speaker does not differ from similar smartphones in this price range. In order for the sound from the speaker to be heard when the smartphone is lying on the back
lid, there are bumps near the speaker hole.

Vernee Thor E's screen is made using OGS technology (One Glass Solution). Straight glass, no 2.5D rounding, no oleophobic coating. Matrix type - IPS, uniform backlighting. The resolution is 1280 x 720 and the pixel density is 294 ppi. The image has good color rendition and is well readable in the sun. At the corners, the image is not inverted or faded. There is a software ability to control the screen parameters - Mira Vision. The touchscreen recognizes 5 touches at the same time.

    Software.
Vernee Thor E has VOS 1.0.0 shell (from Vernee) installed. At its core, VOS 1.0.0 is almost pure Android 7.0 with a standard set of programs, such as programs from google (chrome browser, gmail, services, youtube, disk and others), gallery, file manager, clock, backup, hangouts, messenger and others ... Let's not focus on them.
Immediately after turning on the smartphone, 3 updates arrived.
After installing the latest update, the orientation sensor and magnetic sensor stopped working. Also, after the last update, fast charging began to charge only 7.5V 1.5A.

Changes since the last software update

Menu items are standard for Android 7. I would like to highlight the ability to customize the screen settings in Mira Vision, the ability to control gestures on the locked screen, and of course the fingerprint sensor menu, which in Vernee Thor E works for a solid five.

    Iron.
As already indicated in the technical specifications - Vernee Thor E is built on the MT6753 processor, which consists of eight 64-bit ARM Cortex-A53 cores with a clock speed of up to 1.5 GHz and a Mali-T720 graphics coprocessor. The smartphone has 3GB of LPDDR3 RAM and 16GB (of which about 10GB are available for use) of permanent memory. This configuration is more than enough for everyday tasks. The smartphone works smartly and so far no lags or freezes have been noticed.
The smartphone has the following sensors:
    - accelerometer sensor
    - light sensor
    - orientation sensor
    - distance sensor
    - sound sensor
    - magnetic sensor
As mentioned earlier, in the latest software update, for some reason, the orientation sensor and the magnetic sensor were turned off.

A little more details about MTK6753.

    Additional Information

The MT6753 processor consists of eight 64-bit ARM Cortex-A53 cores with a clock speed of up to 1.3 GHz and a Mali-T720 graphics coprocessor. Technical features MediaTek MT6753: 8 cores ARM Cortex-A53 with a clock speed of up to 1.3 GHz; CorePilot technology that balances performance, power consumption and heat dissipation; graphics accelerator Mali-T720 with support for Open GL ES 3.0 and Open CL 1.2 technologies; Support for Full HD video playback in H.264 and H.265 formats, as well as Full HD video recording in H.264 format at up to 30 frames per second; support for cameras with a resolution of up to 16 megapixels; support for screens with a resolution of up to 1920 x 1080 pixels and a scan rate of up to 60 Hz; MiraVision technology that improves image quality; dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4 / 5 GHz) for connecting to routers and transferring video to compatible devices using Miracast technology; Bluetooth 4.0 with support for LE (Low Energy) mode for connection to wearable devices and Bluetooth headsets; cellular networks: Rel. 9, Cat. 4 FDD and TDD LTE (up to 150 Mbps download, 50 Mbps download), 3GPP Rel. 8, DC-HSPA + (up to 42 Mbps download, 11 Mbps download), TD-SCDMA and EDGE, CDMA2000 1x / EVDO Rev. A.

    Wireless networks. Navigation system.
In everyday use, Vernee Thor E shows good call quality. The interlocutor is heard clearly, without distortion. The sound quality and the volume of the earpiece do not cause any objections. 3G works well, depending on the coverage area.

We can see the frequencies supported by the smartphone in the engineering menu. To enter the engineering menu, you first need to enable factory unlock in your smartphone. Customization - For Developers - Factory Unlocked. For the "For Developers" menu to appear, you need to tap several times on the build number (which is located - Settings - About phone). Then, in the dialer, dial the code to enter the engineering menu: * # * # 3646633 # * # *

WiFi is supported in two bands 2.4 and 5 GHz. According to the experience of using, the WIFI reception of Vernee Thor E is slightly better than that of my Xiaomi Redmi 4. Unfortunately, I have a 2.4GHz router at home and there is no way to check a 5GHz smartphone.

Vernee Thor E supports two navigation systems - GPS and Glonass. When the GPS was first launched, the smartphone found satellites in about 3-4 minutes without any additional manipulations in the engineering menu, which is very good for MTK. On subsequent launches, satellites are found much faster, since after the first launch, a map of satellites is formed in the smartphone itself (file mtkgps.dat).

    Battery. Autonomy.
According to the manufacturer, the smartphone has a 5020mAh battery. But as he showed in his with the measurement of Uv. kirich - the real battery capacity is slightly lower than the declared one and amounted to 4630mAh. Note that when charging the battery with a standard charger, the smartphone heats up noticeably. In the latest software version, the maximum Fast charge voltage was reduced to 7.5V at a current of 1.5A.
The operating time from a single charge depends, of course, on the modes in which the smartphone is used and will be individual for each owner. With my daily use, the battery lasts for 2-2.5 days.
Battery test in Geekbench 3 showed that from 100% to 1% at 100% screen backlight brightness, the battery was discharged in 8h.01m. A similar test in the PC mark program showed about 9 hours. The battery was charged from 1% to 100% in about 2.6 hours. Charging was performed with a standard charger at a voltage of 7.5V and a current of 1.5A.

    Charge-Discharge

    Cameras.
Vernee Thor E has two cameras. Main 8 MP (interpolation up to 13MP) with an aperture of 2.4 and frontal 2MP (interpolation up to 5MP).
In principle, one should not expect excellent results from a smartphone camera for 100%, but still, in good lighting, you can achieve tolerable pictures. Close-up shots are better than distant subjects.
The camera of my Redmi 4 in comparison with the Vernee Thor takes pictures of about the same quality. The Redmi 4 has slightly better pictures in color reproduction and white balance. But again, a $ 100 smartphone cannot have a super camera.
The interface and camera settings menu is standard for Android 7.

I will show some pictures in comparison with Redmi 4. On the left Vernee Thor E on the right Xiaomi Redmi 4 (Both are far from camera phones)

Let's move on to testing. Tests are comparable with those on my smartphone Xiaomi Redmi 4 (2/16)

    PC MARK for Android.

    A1 SD bench.

As you can see from the tests, Xiaomi Redmi 4 is slightly ahead of Vernee Thor E, but these are just synthetic tests. In real use, Thor E works very quickly and in some places even a little faster than Redmi 4. I suggest watching a video comparing the work of these two phones.

    Let's summarize my story.
Vernee Thor E - overall I liked it. In its price segment, he is a pretty smart guy and his capabilities are quite enough for an inexperienced, not too demanding man in the street.

What we liked- almost pure Android 7, nimble interface work, good performance, good GPS performance, fast operation of the fingerprint sensor, a capacious battery.
What did not like- cameras (which, in other respects, was expected), cutting of the declared functions of the phone in software updates, heating during charging and heavy loads.

All good, thank you for your attention!
