The smartphone was recently announced and, as the name implies, this is an updated version of the one released earlier this year. This time, the developers have paid attention to the release of a frameless screen with a diagonal of 6 inches.

The resolution has increased slightly to 2160 x 1080, although the OnePlus 5's screen may be slightly sharper due to the higher pixel density of 401 ppi. The resolution here is 1920 x 1080 at 5.5 inches.

The device doesn't look as modern as the OnePlus 5T, due to the large bezels around the edges. As far as the back is concerned, it looks the same apart from the fingerprint scanner.

Both smartphones lack water and dust resistance. On the other hand, there is no glass back, which makes it less likely to break.

A larger screen in the same body and a modern design allow OnePlus 5T win in this category.

The two smartphones have the same 3300mAh batteries, so the battery life should be the same. This may be surprising since the OnePlus 5T needs more power for a higher resolution and larger screen, but the developers say it won't affect battery life. We'll have to believe it for now, but soon the test results will appear in the reviews.

Smartphones use the same fast charging technologies. OnePlus Dash Charge is a productive solution, in half an hour you can charge your smartphone for a whole day of work.

Perhaps, on OnePlus 5, the autonomy will still be slightly higher, but so far this cannot be argued and is awarded draw.

Both smartphones have dual rear cameras, but the latest models have made some changes, although this does not mean that the cameras are better there. The main camera in both cases has a resolution of 16 megapixels, but the telephoto camera is removed on the new device. Instead, it uses a standard 20MP lens with a wider f / 1.7 aperture, which means better low-light performance. Also, these lenses perform better in portrait mode, providing greater image depth. It should be borne in mind that the auxiliary camera comes into play only when there is a lack of lighting.

This means there is no 2x optical zoom on the OnePlus 5T. Instead, digital zoom is used, the quality of which is lower.

The front cameras are the same with 16MP resolution. The OnePlus 5 had a decent camera and you can expect the same on the new model. Although the portrait mode is not so good, the quality of photos will be higher in a lack of lighting. For this reason, for photographic ability, draw.

OnePlus has its own skin on top of Android, but the changes from the stock version are minimal. There are some visual differences, but overall the system looks like a shell on.

The OnePlus 5T uses Oxygen OS 4.7 on top of Android 7.1.1. The beta version is promised before the end of the year, the official distribution of the final version in the first quarter of next year. The same applies to the OnePlus 5, so here too draw.

    Price and availability

When OnePlus 5 appeared, the price in the West was $ 480 for the base model and $ 520 for 8/128 GB. Now in Russia the 64 GB version costs 40,000 rubles. New smartphone rose in price to $ 500 and $ 560.

OnePlus usually stops selling the previous smartphone after the release of a new one, so in the near future, sales of OnePlus 5 may be discontinued. Let the new model be a little more expensive, the advantages of the screen compensate for this and the new device is declared the winner in this category.

    Final Winner

He is recognized as the winner in the totality of all components. Although smartphones are similar, users always prefer a newer model, and in this case it is OnePlus 5T.

Buy OnePlus 5T at the best price possible.

Should you buy OnePlus 5 or OnePlus 3T? A brand new smartphone on the top-end Snapdragon 835 or the time-tested OnePlus 3T? Among fans of the 1+ brand, this is now the main question.

For me, lover Sony Xperia, such a question is not even worth it. But then I can soberly assess which of the two smartphones deserves attention and your money at the moment.

    OnePlus 3, OnePlus 3T, OnePlus 5

Such smartphones are usually bought rationally, wisely, which means that you need to carefully weigh the pros and cons. Go!

OnePlus 5 vs OnePlus 3T: Similarities and Differences

Appearance. Let's start with the design, because although OnePlus is mainly used by geeks, even they will not like it when their smartphone impudently copies the hated iPhone. And the OnePlus 5 does it shamelessly and openly. You can read about borrowing OnePlus 5 in.

The OnePlus 3T resembles some Chinese smartphones (LeEco?), But does not aim to be an exact copy of the iPhone or Samsung. It can be distinguished from other popular models.

Ergonomics. On paper, the dimensions of the new OnePlus 5 (152.7 x 74.7 x 7.4 mm) are almost the same as the OnePlus 3T (154.2 x 74.1 x 7.3 mm), but due to the thinner edges of the OnePlus 5 will be more comfortable in the hand. The difference in convenience may be minimal, though.

Screen. Both smartphones have exactly the same AMOLED 5.5 ″ screens with FHD resolution, so there is complete parity here.

True, the OnePlus 5 has this display turned upside down for some reason, which is why, when scrolling through the pages and the feed of social networks, the first users noticed the "jelly effect" (it is better to watch the video). OnePlus developers have already rushed to declare that this is “not a bug, but a feature!”, But promised to fix this “feature” in the next firmware updates.

Camera. But the cameras on the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 3T are completely different. And here the new "flagship killer" is clearly in the black.

    OnePlus 5 is equipped with a 16MP + 20MP dual camera. The first Sony IMX398 module, physical size 1 / 2.8 ″, pixel size 1.12 µm, aperture F / 1.7, focal length 24 mm. The second Sony IMX350 module, physical size 1 / 2.8 ″, pixel size 1.0 µm, aperture F / 2.6, focal length 36 mm.

The OnePlus 3T has a more modest camera. This is a 16 Mp Sony IMX298 module with a physical size of 1 / 2.8 ″ and a pixel size of 1.12 µm. At the same time, the lens aperture is only F / 2.0. Buying the OnePlus 3T for the camera is definitely not worth it.

The front cameras of both phones are the same - 16 Mp, pixel size 1.0 µm, aperture F / 2.0, focal length 20 Mp.

Performance. Everything here is simple and complex at the same time. On the one hand, Snapdragon 835 in OnePlus 5 provides superiority over Snapdragon 821 at the level of 30-40% in all tests, and on the other hand, it is not clear where to put all this power.

After all, even the performance of the OnePlus 3T is headlong enough for any resource-intensive tasks, and given the stagnation in the mobile games market, it will be enough for more than one year.

Even when comparing the speed of the OnePlus 3T and OnePlus 5 head-on, one cannot see any major difference in performance. Don't believe me? Take a look at this test.

Autonomy. Even though the OnePlus 5's battery is 100mAh smaller than the OnePlus 3T, it will last noticeably longer. It's all about the more energy-efficient Snapdragon 835, which has learned to more competently allocate computing resources under different types tasks.

This is confirmed by numerous Western reviews. For example, in the proprietary test GSMArena.com OnePlus 5 played video for 18:42 hours, and OnePlus 3T in the same test lasted "only" 13:23 hours.

    Pros and cons

It's time to put all the advantages / disadvantages of the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 3T together.

    Oneplus 5

    Pros:

    • Camera... A little bit, but better. New high-aperture optics are always good.
    • Little things... Bluetooth 5.0, Gorilla Glass 5, faster UFS 2.1.2 memory
    • Working hours... The Snapdragon 835 works wonders.

    Minuses:

    • Price... From year to year, OnePlus phones are slowly getting more expensive, but the OnePlus 5 is already dangerously close to the A-brands. The average price for Yandex Market is 36,000 rubles for the 64 GB version. For example, Xiaomi Mi 6 with similar hardware costs ~ 27,500 rubles.
    • Design... The phone is slippery and easily soiled, and the multifunction button is inconvenient. Compared to the on-screen buttons and the scanner on the back, this is a clear step backward.
    • Performance... Fastest, but nowhere to use this power.
    • RAM... Normal people don't need 6GB of RAM, but a more affordable cost.
    • Few flowers. Scarce color palette. You can choose "very gray" or "almost black".

    OnePlus 3T

    pros:

    • Price... OnePlus 3T is rightfully considered the best smartphone for their money. The average price for Yandex Market is ~ 25,000 rubles for the 64 GB version.
    • Design... Not too fresh, but at least not an iPhone clone.

    Minuses:

    • Camera. It is useless to deny that the OnePlus 3T has a mediocre camera that falls short of the A-brands' level. The OnePlus 5's camera isn't perfect either, but it shoots better.
    • Working hours... You shouldn't complain about the battery life of the OnePlus 3T, but it looks dull against the background of the OnePlus 5.

Should you buy OnePlus 5 or OnePlus 3T?

Now that all the strengths and weaknesses of the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 3T have been disassembled and collected, it's time to answer - what to buy?

I will say this, if you just want the most new and powerful smartphone right here and now, then you should fork out for OnePlus 5. Yes, it should not cost 36,000 rubles, but it will take a long time to wait for the price reduction.

If you approach buying a smartphone more rationally, then the choice is in favor of the OnePlus 3T. This device is still relevant, it will be updated to Android 8.0, and for the difference in price compared to the OnePlus 5, you can buy high-quality wired or good wireless headphones. If you are not chasing the latest hardware, but are looking for a high-quality phone "cheap" - buy OnePlus 3T. You will not regret.

Smartphone manufacturers update their flagship devices regularly. OnePlus is no exception: the OnePlus 3T was presented in November 2016, and six months later, in June 2019, the OnePlus 5 was unveiled. Both devices deserve attention, but which one is preferable? Should you overpay for the newest device possible? Today's comparison will answer that question: OnePlus 5 VS OnePlus 3T.

The design of the OnePlus 3T is identical to what the manufacturer revealed in spring 2016: a one-piece metal body, tempered Gorilla Glass 4 and filling hidden between them. Color options 3: Soft Gold, Midnight Black and Gunmetal. The fifth OnePlus received the Midnight Black and Slate Gray colors, and the front panel is only black. For the 3t, a white version is available, combined with a gold case.

The back panel carries a lot of differences between the devices. On the 3T, the camera is located in the center of the upper part of the rear panel, antenna dividers are noticeable. The camera itself has a frame in the color of the body, and it is made of brushed aluminum. The gadget with the index "five" received a double module, which is why the Chinese placed the latter in the upper left corner of the rear panel, changing the pattern of the antenna dividers. Because of this, it became similar to the Apple iPhone 7 Plus.

There are few changes on the front, with the OnePlus 5's top and bottom bezels resizing relative to its predecessor. Their edges are now rounded, which gives the impression of a thinner smartphone than it actually is. The location of the sensors with the touch buttons is the same, as well as the elements on the ends.

    Display

In terms of characteristics, the screens of smartphones are identical. Both devices received a 5.5-inch Full HD Optic AMOLED matrix. The pixel density is 401 ppi. The manufacturing technology is a marketing ploy, since the modules for OnePlus are supplied by Samsung, known for producing Super AMOLED panels.

However, both screens deliver natural blacks, oversaturated colors, and greenish white when rejected. Excessive saturation can be corrected by the SRGB parameter, which is available among the parameters for developers.

The version about the inverted screen of OnePlus 5 is not unfounded: the jelly-like picture when scrolling is noticeable. The manufacturer commented on this as a software oversight, promising to fix the misunderstanding in the next update. On OnePlus 3 and 3T, this problem could only be noticed when the smartphone was turned upside down.

    User interface

Out of the box, the 3T ships with Oxygen OS 4.1.5 based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. The shell is global, no one has had any problems with switching it to Russian. Plus, it can be easily upgraded to version 4.5.10. This version uses Android 7.1.1 Nougat as its base, which is installed by default on the OnePlus 5.

The shell itself is a modified "naked" android. The system, which was close to ideal, received a number of useful functions, such as switching the touch keys to on-screen ones, controlling the slider for switching sound modes. The launcher has got an additional screen to the left of the main one. It is somewhat similar to that of Apple, it displays its own widgets with the latest contacts, applications, etc.

    Specifications and performance

A fresh processor is certainly installed in the new OnePlus 5. This is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 with an Adreno 540 graphics accelerator. Its arsenal is 8 cores, which work in a 4 + 4 scheme. High-performance cores perform logical operations at 2.45 GHz, and energy-efficient ones - at 1.9 GHz.

The third OnePlus is equipped with last year's Snapdragon 821. The graphics chip is slightly older - Adreno 530. The working scheme of this stone is 2 + 2, with powerful cores running at 2.35 GHz, and economical ones at 1.6. The result is predictable: OnePlus 5 beats the 3T in all synthetic tests. The difference in Antutu's results was 35,000 points, which is an abyss by modern standards.

The situation is similar with memory. The 3T was produced in two versions: 128 or 64 gigabytes of permanent memory. Operational has always been 6 gigabytes. The five also comes in two versions: 6/64 and 8/128. Yes, as much as 8 gigabytes random access memory... There is not yet one among the users who could load this beast one hundred percent.

The new, more powerful OnePlus 5 only breaks away on paper: in direct comparison, the difference is minimal. Everyday tasks on both devices do not cause problems, games are launched with maximum graphic parameters, the frame rate does not drop below 60 frames. It turns out that the new gadget is "muscle flexing".

    Camera

The device modules differ fundamentally. The 3T has a conventional 16-megapixel module, F / 2.0 aperture with optical stabilization. It takes decent pictures in daylight, but in the evening the result is severely degraded. Manual settings partially save the situation.

The camera in OnePlus 5 is a dual module consisting of a wide-angle and a telephoto lens. The main module received a resolution of 16 megapixels, optics, with a focal length of 26 mm and aperture ratio of F / 1.7. Additional - a 20-megapixel sensor, f / 2.6 aperture and a focal length of 36 mm.

There is no double magnification, at least optical. With the help of lenses, it is possible to achieve only a 1.6-fold approximation, the rest is the work of the software part. The result can be called high-quality daytime and twilight photos, decent portraits with a blurred background. The latter are good, but fall short of the level of the iPhone 7 Plus.

Both cameras record video in 4k, 1080p 60 fps and 720p 240 fps. The five makes it worse due to the lack of optical stabilization, and the 3T, in turn, does not provide sufficient detail in low light. However the best choice for the mobile photographer will be the OnePlus 5.

    Battery

Last year's version received a 3400 mAh battery. The new product has a battery reduced by 100 milliamperes: 3300 mAh. The first one worked without problems a full day on a single charge, holding out until late at night. The mode of use included heavy listening to music, heavy use of social media, and about an hour of playing Hearthstone. The five in this mode worked only an hour less.

    conclusions

Considering both smartphones for purchase, you can be sure that you will receive a quality device that will last more than a year. But which OnePlus is better?

    1. Frame. The build quality of both cases is equally perfect: squeaks, backlash, squeezing screen - all this is the lot of budget Xiaomi. None of the comparison heroes have any advantages here.
    2. Screen. The matrices are the same here, they are well balanced, have a natural black color, but the jelly-like image of the OnePlus 5 does not allow it to be given the lead in this point. To notice the problem in 3T, you need to try, so the leadership should be given to him.
    3. The shell is exactly the same. There is no talk of updating Oxygen OS to the eighth version of Android yet, so both devices do without a "plus in karma".
    4. Technical characteristics and performance are good, but the fifth beats last year's competitor in synthetic tests, and there is 2 gigabytes more RAM here. The score goes to 1 + 5.
    5. Comparing cameras, the conclusion suggests itself: OnePlus 3T is suitable for the lover of photography, sometimes recording video. Double module of five - for the mobile photographer. The best aperture, background blur, optical zoom, albeit small, speak precisely in favor of OnePlus
    6. The battery in smartphones differs by only 100 milliamps, while the new processor from Qualcomm is made using a smaller process technology, which is why the devices work the same.

The conclusion of the comparison between OnePlus 3T and 5 can be called the victory of the former. It's hard to argue with this, especially if its price tag is almost 100 euros more than its analogue from 2016. The verdict will be this: if you have not changed your smartphone for 2-3 years and are looking for something cool, choose the top five. If you own a OnePlus 3 or 3T, then do not rush to change the device. Your gadget will work perfectly for another year and a half.

    Where can I buy

In June 2017, you will have to pay an average of 49,800 rubles. Despite the more attractive price, the Chinese smartphone imposes a real battle on the "king of the hill" and in the corresponding Chip rating it gets dangerously close.

The Galaxy S8 is better equipped, has a better camera and is a real delight with its huge bezel-less screen. Both smartphones are extremely fast. The OnePlus 5 is equipped with the fastest mobile processor from Qualcomm, which is called the Snapdragon 835. By the way, it is also used in the American version of the Galaxy S8. In the European version of the flagship Samsung, the Exynos 8895 is installed, which has a comparable high performance.

The user interfaces of both smartphones scroll quickly and without hesitation, programs launch with lightning speed. In addition, the power is sufficient for more demanding 3D applications. Performance fans will be 100% satisfied.

OnePlus 5 system responds to commands very quickly

Galaxy S8 camera outperforms OnePlus 5's dual cameras

When it comes to equipping the camera, OnePlus is clearly inspired by the ideas of Apple: the OnePlus 5, like the one, has a dual camera with 2x zoom. This opportunity appeared due to the use of two matrices in combination with lenses with different focal lengths. This function in everyday use it turns out to be very useful if you have to photograph distant objects, but the quality of the pictures obtained with the help of the 20-megapixel "tele-matrix" cannot be compared with the results of the work of its "main" partner.

At the same time, the photo quality of the 16-megapixel main camera itself is only "good". Especially we are hindered by the softer rendering of images, noticeable when comparing, which sacrifices a large number of details. In addition, the lack of an optical image stabilizer is especially noticeable in the list of camera specifications.

Photo-lovers, although they are forced to abandon the useful zoom function when choosing the Galaxy S8 (there is only digital zoom by enlarging a certain area of the image), but in the end they get higher quality photos, especially if they are taken in twilight lighting. For those for whom the quality of pictures when choosing a smartphone is more important than its other characteristics, it would be better to choose a device from Samsung, or even better - which raised the benchmark in this test category one step up.

The Galaxy S8 looks noticeably larger than the OnePlus 5 - especially when viewed from the front

    OnePlus 5 without spectacular features

The Galaxy S8 is slightly smaller than the OnePlus 5, but the front, thanks to the huge and virtually bezelless 5.8-inch AMDOLED display, seems larger than it actually is. The OnePlus 5 screen measures 5.5 inches diagonally and is also made using AMOLED technologies, that is, it also has rich colors and contrast. The maximum brightness with its 455 cd / m2 is good, but the S8 can sometimes reach an astounding 700 cd / m2 in this parameter. Unlike Samsung, OnePlus uses the classic 16: 9 aspect ratio. Thus, in terms of the presence of spectacular features, the S8 wins a clear victory.

On the other hand, the OnePlus 5 has a very fast and accurate fingerprint scanner on the front, while S8 users have to grope it on back side smartphone under the dual camera. Although the OnePlus 5 is well equipped, it also supports such modern technologies like, for example, Bluetooth 5, the device from Samsung can offer more: instead of (already very fast) 600 Mbit per second, IP-68 certificate as a guarantee against water damage, USB 3.0 instead of 2.0 and support for wireless charging. Thus, the more affordable cost of the OnePlus 5 brings with it some "disadvantages."

At the same time, the Chinese smartphone managed to surpass the Galaxy S8 in a very important battery endurance test. During the online check, the OnePlus 5 with its 3300 mAh battery lasted 11 hours and 26 minutes, while the Galaxy S8, with its 9 hours 47 minutes, stopped running noticeably faster in this regard.

So anyone who wants to have a better smartphone overall should opt for the Galaxy S8. But OnePlus 5 at the start of sales is estimated by the manufacturer at least 9,000 rubles cheaper.

It's time to compare the iPhone 7 Plus with the freshly baked flagship OnePlus 5. The age difference between our heroes is approximately six months, but this does not stop us from comparing them. Moreover, the guys from OnePlus have frankly copied the design of the iPhone, so outwardly it is difficult to distinguish them, except for a couple of points.

We will take a closer look at the design of these two devices, their specifications, prices and more. This comparison will help you see the differences between the new OnePlus and the 5.5-inch iPhone in 2016.

    Design

OnePlus 5 is completely different from its predecessors appearance... The Chinese engineers took the gorgeous iPhone 7+ design and added their own finishing touches that make fans of the brand smile.

Simplicity and sophistication are immediately striking. The body is made from a single piece of aluminum, which can only be painted in two colors: Midnight Black and Slate Gray. These dark shades look great, but something brighter is missing, like silver or red.

The Apple iPhone 7 Plus has a similar all-metal construction, but there are definitely more colors to choose from. Cupertinos offer six design options at once: matte black, glossy black, red, silver, pink and gold. In black or gray, the OnePlus 5 looks great, but the surface of the case is excellent at collecting fingerprints. An identical problem haunts his opponent.

The OnePlus 5, unlike the iPhone, does not protrude from the body, although they both have a pair of lenses. The back cover of both devices also houses a logo, an additional microphone and an LED flash. Apple iPhone has a glossy finish that reflects light, but the plus unit on the back of the OnePlus is almost invisible.

The flagship of the Chinese company, despite the display of exactly the same size, is noticeably more compact than its rival.

The OnePlus 5 has the following dimensions: 154.2 x 74.1 x 7.25 mm... And its weight is 153 grams. iPhone 7 Plus, in turn, is taller, wider and even thicker - 158.2 x 77.9 x 7.3 mm... It weighs 188 grams, which is 35 grams more than the competing device.

Chinese engineers, unlike American engineers, managed to fit a 3.5 mm audio jack into such a thin case, which makes Apple's ill-wishers warm in their souls. Be that as it may, the iPhone 7 Plus is IP67 certified, making it dust and water resistant, while the OnePlus 5 lacks that functionality.

    Cameras

As mentioned above, the main cameras of these flagships have a pair of lenses. In the iPhone 7 Plus, they stick out a few millimeters, which is why the device lies unsteadily on the table, but its rival is fine with that. On the other hand, the flagship from OnePlus lacks optical stabilization, while its competitor is equipped with 4-axis stabilization.

The main camera lens of the OnePlus 5 has a 16-megapixel sensor with an f / 1.7 aperture, while the secondary lens is a 20-megapixel one with an f / 2.6 aperture.

Experiments have shown that his camera has only 1.6x optical zoom, not 2x. Soon this was confirmed by the head of the company Karl Pei, adding that the remaining 0.4 times are carried out using conventional digital approximation.

The iPhone 7, in turn, received a pair of 12-megapixel sensors, one of which has an f / 1.8 aperture, and the other has an f / 2.6 aperture. The additional lens has a similar functionality - it has 2x fixed optical zoom.

In both cases, the user gets the opportunity to create impressive photographs, including the use of portrait mode. The optical zoom does not bring much results, but the optical stabilization does an excellent job. Shots taken in motion on the iPhone are blurry, which is its main advantage over OnePlus.

The OnePlus 5 is more suitable for "selfies", given the megapixels of the front camera. It is equipped with a 16MP sensor, while its competitor has only 7MP. Many will argue that this characteristic is far from the most reliable indicator, because resolution does not always play a big role.

The Apple iPhone 7+ relies on the 14nm A10 Fusion quad-core chipset, which outperforms the OnePlus 5.

The Chinese company equipped its device with an eight-core Snapdragon 835 solution, in the production of which 10nm technology was used. It offers the best performance and energy efficiency, which is key.

The fifth OnePlus has double the RAM and storage capacity of the iPhone 7 Plus. The new smartphone from the "Celestial Empire" in the minimum configuration has 6 GB of RAM, while the American phablet boasts only three gigabytes.

Apart from that, there is a version of the OnePlus 5 with 8GB of RAM for those who think that 6GB is not enough for them. The cheapest iPhone has 32GB of internal storage, while its competitor has 64GB. Either way, Apple offers a 256GB version of its phone, while the OnePlus is no more than 128GB. None of these gadgets have a memory card slot.

The OnePlus 5 has a more powerful battery on board than the iPhone 7 Plus, but the difference in battery life is negligible.

Tests have shown that 3300 mAh in a Chinese smartphone is enough for 9 hours and 18 minutes, while its American counterpart is able to hold out 9 hours and 5 minutes.

A script was launched on both devices that simulates their work in real conditions.

Note that the OnePlus, unlike the iPhone, has fast charging. Chinese engineers use one of the most advanced technologies, which allows charging a large, by today's standards, battery a little slower than an hour and a half. The 7 Plus battery takes approximately twice the time to charge.

    Software

These smartphones run on multiple platforms. Preinstalled on iPhone operating system iOS and Android on OnePlus. In both cases, you get the latest software that is regularly updated, including security patches.

Unlike many other Chinese companies, the OnePlus 5's Oxygen OS offers a stock Android interface and is virtually devoid of unnecessary pre-installed apps.

Of course, the company has worked to ensure that the functionality of their software is not inferior to competitors. There are definitely more settings on an Android device than on iOS, but the benefits of some are highly questionable.

Each of these gadgets has quite flexible display settings, cameras and many other parameters. For example, both the iPhone 7 Plus and OnePlus 5 have a “blue filter” that fights harmful radiation. And the Camera app has a range of options that give you control over every aspect of photography and video recording.

The smartphone of the Chinese brand is compatible with the Android Pay mobile payment system, which was launched in Russia. Apple Pay, available in the region, works great on iPhone 7 Plus. The OnePlus 5, unlike its competitor, supports gestures to launch various applications and utilities. You draw a special symbol on the screen and, for example, a flashlight turns on on the phone in a moment.

Not to mention the automatic night mode and long screenshots. By the way, to take a regular screenshot on OnePlus, you just need to swipe down on the surface of the touch panel with three fingers.

In the arsenal of the iPhone, obviously, there is a virtual assistant Siri, and on OnePlus you can use the services of Google Assistant, although the latter does not yet understand Russian, so it is not relevant in our country.

    Screen

The flagships are equipped with the same screens, except for one detail. These are 5.5-inch FHD panels with a pixel density of 401 ppi, but their production technology is completely different. The OnePlus 5 uses an advanced design called AMOLED, while the iPhone 7 Plus uses IPS LCD.

In both cases, you get screens with excellent color reproduction and contrast. AMOLED technology offers the best energy efficiency and true blacks. On the other hand, Apple smartphones boast 3D Touch technology, thanks to which the display mobile device is able to distinguish the force of pressing of fingers.

The OnePlus 5 challenged the world's most popular phablet, the iPhone 7 Plus, and is considered by many to have won. Smartphones have essentially identical displays, but the Chinese brand's smartphone is significantly smaller in size. This is possible due to the thinner bezels, which also give the device an attractive look.

If you don't compare fingerprint unlocking, you won't notice much difference. However, on the new device of the Chinese company, the response time of the fingerprint scanner is 0.2 seconds, which is significantly longer than that of the iPhone.

The performance comparison showed that the OnePlus 5 is noticeably faster than the iPhone 7+ in real-world conditions. That is, it opens applications faster, including heavy games.

Perhaps the reason is that it has twice the amount of both RAM and permanent memory. And the speed of operation of these OnePlus 5 modules is an order of magnitude higher, because they are newer. The Chinese device also has a slot for two SIM-cards at once, which can work in alternating mode. In terms of cost, the leader is the OnePlus device.

Of course, waterproofing is trending right now, which the OnePlus 5 doesn't have, but the iPhone 7 Plus does. The advantage of the latter is also the Apple ecosystem, that is, the close interaction of the company's products with each other.
