The device modules differ fundamentally. The 3T has a conventional 16-megapixel module, F / 2.0 aperture with optical stabilization. It takes decent pictures in daylight, but in the evening the result is severely degraded. Manual settings partially save the situation.

Especially we are hindered by the softer rendering of images, noticeable when comparing, which sacrifices a large number of details. Photo-lovers, although they are forced to abandon the useful zoom function when choosing the Galaxy S8 (there is only digital zoom by enlarging a certain area of ​​the image), but in the end they get higher quality photos, especially if they are taken in twilight lighting. The Apple iPhone 7+ relies on the 14nm A10 Fusion quad-core chipset, which outperforms the OnePlus 5.

The Chinese company equipped its device with an eight-core Snapdragon 835 solution, in the production of which 10nm technology was used. It offers the best performance and energy efficiency, which is key.

The fifth OnePlus has double the RAM and storage capacity of the iPhone 7 Plus. The new smartphone from the "Celestial Empire" in the minimum configuration has 6 GB of RAM, while the American phablet boasts only three gigabytes.

Apart from that, there is a version of the OnePlus 5 with 8GB of RAM for those who think that 6GB is not enough for them. The cheapest iPhone has 32GB of internal storage, while its competitor has 64GB. Either way, Apple offers a 256GB version of its phone, while the OnePlus is no more than 128GB. None of these gadgets have a memory card slot.

The OnePlus 5 has a more powerful battery on board than the iPhone 7 Plus, but the difference in battery life is negligible.

Tests have shown that 3300 mAh in a Chinese smartphone is enough for 9 hours and 18 minutes, while its American counterpart is able to hold out 9 hours and 5 minutes.

A script was launched on both devices that simulates their work in real conditions.

Note that the OnePlus, unlike the iPhone, has fast charging. Chinese engineers use one of the most advanced technologies, which allows charging a large, by today's standards, battery a little slower than an hour and a half. The 7 Plus battery takes approximately twice the time to charge.

Software

These smartphones run on multiple platforms. Preinstalled on iPhone operating system iOS and Android on OnePlus. In both cases, you get the latest software that is regularly updated, including security patches.

Unlike many other Chinese companies, the OnePlus 5's Oxygen OS offers a stock Android interface and is virtually devoid of unnecessary pre-installed apps.

Of course, the company has worked to ensure that the functionality of their software is not inferior to competitors. There are definitely more settings on an Android device than on iOS, but the benefits of some are highly questionable.

Each of these gadgets has quite flexible display settings, cameras and many other parameters. For example, both the iPhone 7 Plus and OnePlus 5 have a “blue filter” that fights harmful radiation. And the Camera app has a range of options that give you control over every aspect of photography and video recording.

The smartphone of the Chinese brand is compatible with the Android Pay mobile payment system, which was launched in Russia. Apple Pay, available in the region, works great on iPhone 7 Plus. The OnePlus 5, unlike its competitor, supports gestures to launch various applications and utilities. You draw a special symbol on the screen and, for example, a flashlight turns on on the phone in a moment.

Not to mention the automatic night mode and long screenshots. By the way, to take a regular screenshot on OnePlus, you just need to swipe down on the surface of the touch panel with three fingers.

The flagships are equipped with the same screens, except for one detail. These are 5.5-inch FHD panels with a pixel density of 401 ppi, but their production technology is completely different. The OnePlus 5 uses an advanced design called AMOLED, while the iPhone 7 Plus uses IPS LCD.

In both cases, you get screens with excellent color reproduction and contrast. AMOLED technology offers the best energy efficiency and true blacks. On the other hand, Apple smartphones boast 3D Touch technology, thanks to which the display mobile device is able to distinguish the force of pressing of fingers.

The OnePlus 5 challenged the world's most popular phablet, the iPhone 7 Plus, and is considered by many to have won. Smartphones have essentially identical displays, but the Chinese brand's smartphone is significantly smaller in size. This is possible due to the thinner bezels, which also give the device an attractive look.

If you don't compare fingerprint unlocking, you won't notice much difference. However, on the new device of the Chinese company, the response time of the fingerprint scanner is 0.2 seconds, which is significantly longer than that of the iPhone.

The performance comparison showed that the OnePlus 5 is noticeably faster than the iPhone 7+ in real-world conditions. That is, it opens applications faster, including heavy games.

Perhaps the reason is that it has twice the amount of both RAM and permanent memory. And the speed of operation of these OnePlus 5 modules is an order of magnitude higher, because they are newer. The Chinese device also has a slot for two SIM-cards at once, which can work in alternating mode. In terms of cost, the leader is the OnePlus device.

Of course, waterproofing is trending right now, which the OnePlus 5 doesn't have, but the iPhone 7 Plus does. The advantage of the latter is also the Apple ecosystem, that is, the close interaction of the company's products with each other.
