Ninth-graders throughout Russia take the OGE (basic state exams). Meanwhile, many parents do not understand what a successful or unsuccessful passing of the OGE can mean for a student. We found out the answer to this question.
OGE grades serve as a kind of pass to the 10th grade. Ninth-graders must pass four subjects each: two compulsory (Russian language and mathematics) and two optional subjects. (The most popular subjects in 2018 were social studies, which was chosen by 63% of participants, geography - 33%, biology - 30% and computer science - 28%).
As for the mandatory OGE in foreign languages, we recall that it is introduced only in 2020.
The initial results of the OGE-9 are evaluated in primary points, which are then translated into the usual five-point scale. The points are used to derive the final grade in the certificate of basic general education for ninth grade graduates as the arithmetic mean between the annual mark and the result of the OGE in the subject.
"Twos" for the OGE can be retaken, both on specially provided reserve days during the summer campaign, and at additional times in September. At the same time, if earlier ninth-graders who received at least one deuce had to retake all the exams of the OGE, then from this year - only the one for which this “pair” was received.
If it was not possible to retake the “deuce” in the OGE either in the summer or in September, the loser, by decision of the parents, can be left in the 9th grade for the second year. Or, as an alternative, he leaves school with a certificate, and receives a certificate for 9 classes, for example, after studying for some time at a college, where he will be taken with this certificate.
In case of a successful retake, a certificate for a nine-year period will be given. But when entering the 10th grade, problems may arise in this case. Moreover, not only among the losers, even if they have corrected themselves, but also among the threes. Especially if the school where they study is considered strong or specialized.
According to the current rules, the decision on the rules for enrolling tenth graders is largely at the mercy of schools and is regulated not by laws common to all, but by the internal documents of the school - the so-called local acts. For example, the school charter. And if it is written there that only graduates of the 9th grade who have, say, annual grades or OGE results of at least “fours” get into the 10th grade, then the school has every legal reason to do just that. Therefore, before appealing the actions of the school administration, you should carefully read these documents.
The large rights of the school when enrolling in the 10th grade leave it with a noticeable freedom of hands in making decisions. So much depends on the general opinion about the student. For example, an excellent student or just a good student who, with a fright, failed one of the OGE, can still be taken after the retake. But there is no inveterate C grade student, even if he passed all the exams without “twos”. Then, for those who will not be accepted into the 10th grade, two paths open up: either to an easier school (which is quite realistic), or to college. That is, in the system of secondary vocational education - to master working professions.
However, one can, of course, complain about the decision of the school administration. For a start - to the regional Ministry of Education, and then to the federal department, now renamed the Ministry of Education. But let's hope that none of those who decide to continue their education in the 10th grade will not have to do this.

You need to mobilize all your strength to parents and the child, try to achieve good luck on the next possible day of delivery. There is little time for intensive preparation. Therefore, act quickly. Tears, moaning, tantrums will not help here.
Find out what is causing the failure. Confused? The mind completely turned off from fear and could not even understand the meaning of the tasks, although he saw that they were simple and could be completed quickly?
Or have some turned out to be a tough nut to crack? Then you need to try to remember which tasks have become such and solve similar ones many times, taking them, for example, from the OGE task bank.

And although in this case there will be more time for preparation, you should not relax: the results of the exam indicate large gaps in existing knowledge, skills and abilities.
What to do if, when passing the OGE, the results turned out to be unsatisfactory in three, or even in all four subjects? Persistently teach, decide, and in September resolutely, responsibly take up the retake.
Despite all these opportunities for passing and retaking, the question arises: if the child decides to study further, take the exams, but why does a student need four passed subjects who did not want and do not want to study in any way? If the teachers barely made it to the end of the ninth grade, dreaming of letting him out as soon as possible and firmly closing the doors of the school behind him with a few locks so that he would not return? What should they do with him, who did not pass the second, third time? Keep for a second year? Is it useless to force you to take final exams ten times? Where and why do they release an uncertified student after the ninth grade? Or are teachers so indifferent that they are indifferent to the fate of such graduates? Let him retake in September. Fantasy! What will he give up? Where will knowledge come from?
And what should the student do after the third, fourth failure? Where to go? Things to do? And what will he pass if for him the tasks are like a Chinese letter - he does not even understand the meaning of words and terms, let alone the execution algorithm? But many of these unfortunates could become excellent plumbers, drivers, electricians, auto mechanics, welders, etc. Give them the opportunity to learn a profession.
It seems that for some reason it is needed, numerous incomprehensible retakes. It's just that parents and their children do not understand the great goal of those who conceived such a colossal experiment. Maybe we need eternal ninth graders? Some of them, maybe at the age of ninety, will still master the exam and they will be solemnly awarded a certificate of completion of the 9th grade. And before that, who will support them and their families? Wait, there is an option: to assign them educational pensions - after all, they need to live on something. And let them get it until they achieve a certificate and can not learn a profession.
Maybe these exams want to show how many stupid kids there are in school? So this school cannot find an approach to each student, and the education system does not take into account that each child has his own, individual life path. How to retake the OGE in 2018

If you get at least a “troika” for the OGE, passed on reserve days, then consider that you have corrected the situation. Now the certificate can be issued to you without any problems. By the way, after a successful retake, when they calculate the arithmetic average to display the grade for the subject in the certificate, the first "two" for the OGE will not be counted. Retake the OGE in September
If you failed to retake 1 or 2 (no more) "deuces" the second time on reserve days, then you are given the opportunity to retake the OGE in the next academic year. 2. You can stay for re-training in the 9th grade (you are not expelled from the educational institution), in this case you will also pass the final certification in a year - together with the graduates of the 9th grade of 2019. Since you won’t have a certificate in your hands in 2018, you won’t be able to go to college either. Colleges accept graduates of grades 9 and 11 without exams, but when submitting documents, you will be asked for the original school certificate without fail. Well, you have to wait a year, but there is nothing catastrophic in this, because, as you know, the one who does nothing is not mistaken. OGE grading system - scoring by subject
Per Russian language when receiving from 0 to 14 points, a score of "2" is put. From 15 to 24 - score "3". From 25 to 33 - score "4". From 34 to 39 the mark "5" is put.

What is the difference between the OGE and the USE
These two ways of testing knowledge are very similar. The significant difference lies in two aspects:
- The first is how knowledge is tested. OGE students pass in their schools. And the examining committee is the teachers of this school. To write the exam, students are invited to other schools in the city, where other teachers will be supervisors. The work of graduates is checked by an independent commission, which is organized by the district education committee.
- The second difference is admission to the exam. In the 9th grade, everyone who does not have twos in the subjects they pass is allowed to take the exam. In the 11th grade, admission to the exam is not only positive marks, but also, more recently, the final essay. His students write in early December. It is evaluated according to five criteria, for each of which you can score a maximum of five points. The evaluation criterion is the correspondence of the written essay to the given topic. The criteria also include the presence of argumentation, and one of the arguments must be taken from literary sources.
The third evaluation criterion is the composition of the essay and the presence of logic in the text.
The fourth is the quality of written speech. The student must clearly and clearly express his thoughts using different grammatical constructions.
The fifth criterion is literacy. If five or more errors are made, 0 points are given for this item. If points 1 and 2 are given 0 points, then the essay is not checked further and the graduate receives a “failure”.
What happens if you do not pass the OGE
If the student failed the exam and received an unsatisfactory grade in the main subjects, he is given the opportunity to retake these exams on reserve days.

Perhaps he simply cannot mobilize efforts with this form of passing the exam. In large cities, on a paid basis, there are schools that accept students after grade 8. Education in them involves the simultaneous receipt of a certificate and a profession.
The received official document, in some cases, gives the right to prerogative admission to the relevant universities, with which the school sometimes has an agreement.
The vocational education system has not gone away, it still works, and it should not be taken as a scarecrow. This is the only reasonable alternative to shameful repetition at school, an opportunity to change the situation and get a profession. She is a rung on another ladder to career heights. Only the child would have a desire, and the parents would have the opportunity to help.
