    Our perspective on procrastination

    Procrastination is helplessness in the face of difficult tasks in the absence of the necessary skills to solve them. There are the necessary skills and abilities - there is no procrastination. There are no such skills - we take off from business. If from childhood we were not taught how to cope with these tasks, we now give in to them.

    There is no depth psychology here, it's not about fears and not about perfectionism. These are our bad habits, which our parents allowed in our time and for which we are paying today. Previously, it was simply called - shirking, today it is beautifully called PROCRASTINATION. It even elevates somehow: I don’t do garbage, but I suffer from procrastination.

    The term "procrastination" itself appeared already in Ancient Rome as a result of the addition of two words: the preposition pro (“in the direction, towards, forward”) and crastinus (“tomorrow”). The word is found in the writings of historians, and in a positive context. Procrastination is the talent of wise politicians and military leaders who do not make hasty decisions, do not come into conflict and are not in a hurry to pay a prostitute in the hope that the lupanar will catch fire and it will be possible to escape under the guise.

    In modern history, the term appeared only in 1682, in a sermon by the Reverend Anthony Walker.     Surprisingly, this classification almost completely coincides with the conclusions of another fighter against procrastination - B. Tracy. True, he is not a scientist, but a marketer and head of a recruitment agency. But this may be for the best: with a tact uncharacteristic of scientists, Tracy shifts the focus to the cases themselves, instead of calling people neurotics and weaklings who are not fit for work.

    According to him, not people are divided into three types, but heavy things.
