    Installation of the pump in the well. Proper installation of the pump in the well - we do it ourselves Installation of submersible pumps in an artesian well

    One of the priorities of each owner of a suburban area is to provide residential premises with drinking water. A few decades ago, this problem was solved by digging a well.

    Deep well pumps are easy to install, do not need to be looked after, as they are provided with protection against "dry running", and the price is quite acceptable.

    Nowadays, the best source of drinking water is our own well. Proper installation of pumping equipment is the key to the effective functioning of the water supply system at home.

    Preparatory work

    In order for drinking water to flow uninterruptedly into a country house, it is necessary to purchase a pump that is characterized by reliable operation and excellent quality. One of these types of equipment are submersible pumps.

    Before lowering the equipment into the well, its exact depth and width should be determined. The choice of pump model directly depends on the depth of the well. On the one hand, the unit should not raise water in an amount that exceeds the productivity (dynamic potential) of the well. On the other hand, the pressure should be enough for the normal water supply of the house and land.

    Electrical wiring is installed immediately. Even if you plan to use the pump irregularly. An extension cord will not work because the equipment consumes a lot of electrical energy. Often this leads to overheating of the cable and melting of the plug, which can cause a short circuit in the wiring and a fire.

    When installing the pump, it is necessary to provide for the presence of the optimal voltage of the electrical network, on which the indicators of water pressure and equipment pressure depend. Depending on the power of the unit, the need for two or three phases of electric current is determined.

    The submersible pump is quite sensitive to voltage drops. Therefore, when connecting it to the electrical network, it is better to use a voltage stabilizer (220 V). If the electric wire needs to be extended, then the soldering method is used, followed by cable insulation into a fluid coupling. It is recommended to connect cables that have insulation of the same color.

    The well needs to be cleaned. To do this, a small amount of water is pumped out. Pumping is carried out until impurities of soil and sand disappear. Only then can installation work be carried out.

    To qualitatively carry out the installation of the pump in the well, we need the following materials and tools:

    • safety rope;
    • HDPE pipe;
    • hose;
    • fitting;
    • couplings;
    • insulating tape;
    • silicone sealant;
    • clamps;
    • head kit;
    • pipe wrench;
    • metal scissors;
    • bending tongs;
    • hammer;
    • air gun;
    • hexagon;
    • roulette;
    • square;
    • lace.

    The safety cable and pipe are purchased with a margin of 2-3 m.

    The nuances of installing equipment

    At the initial stage, the casing pipe should be carefully checked. There should be no narrowing, unevenness or curvature of the structure. The presence of any defects will lead to difficulty in the correct installation of the deep pump and its premature damage.

    It should be noted right away that there should not be significant discrepancies between the diameter of the HDPE pipe and the diameter of the pump. A large difference in size can adversely affect the efficient operation of the unit. In some cases, this is fraught with equipment failure. The maximum rate of discrepancies can be found in the instructions that come with the pump.

    Installation of equipment is carried out on a clean and flat surface. A fitting is screwed to the pump, which has different external threads on both sides. The fitting is connected to the HDPE coupling. For maximum tightness of the thread, flax is used, which is coated in silicone sealant.

    HDPE pipe unwinds. It should be laid in the most straight line. It is best to use a polyethylene pipe, which has a diameter of 32 mm. If its diameter is less than 32 mm, the pressure loss will increase and the water pressure will deteriorate.

    The end of the pipe that connects to the submersible pump is pulled out and straightened. The equipment must enter the well evenly. To mount the pipe to the pump, a HDPE coupling is used, which is tightened with a pipe wrench.

    A safety cable and an electrical wire are unwound along the pipe. The cable is threaded through special lugs-brackets. Two loops are made. The two ends of the rope are compressed with steel clamps.

    Electrical tape is used to fix the electrical cable and cable to the pipe. Strongly attract them to the pipe is not necessary. If the cable and cable are not fixed to the pipe, then when lifting the pump from a depth, they may become tangled.

    The next step is the installation of the head. To facilitate this process, all connecting screws are unscrewed. The head flange is put on the pipe. The extreme part of the pipe is lubricated with sealant. The water pipe is connected to the rubber ring of the head. The casing pipe is cut before the head is installed. The pipe should protrude 25-30 cm above the well.

    Completion of installation work

    The pump is lowered into the well. If in some area the equipment does not pass further, it is necessary to carefully turn the pump or pipe around its axis. If the unit still does not lower, it should be pulled to the surface and try to better align the pipe. The pump must be installed below the water level and above 1 m from the bottom of the well.

    Two people are required to complete the installation of the pump. One person holds the pipe. His assistant should pass the cable through the head and fasten it to the carabiner. The upper part of the head with a cable and a pipe is lowered into the well. Both parts of the head are combined.

    To check the correct location of the pump (it must be fixed with a cable, and not hang on the pipe), press on the end of the pipe.

    She should go down a bit. Now the head can be tightened with screws. After installing the equipment, all performance indicators are checked: pressure, power and the amount of electricity consumed.

    In many ways, the quality of work and the service life of the equipment will depend on the correct installation of deep-well pumps. The use of low quality materials and violation of the pump installation technology in the well can cause breakage or premature failure of the equipment. And this is fraught with additional costs for the creation of a new well, since it is almost impossible to get a stuck pump.

    Happy owners of dachas and individual houses are well aware that the level of comfort of their homes depends on the successful solution of the problem of water supply. A person spoiled by civilization is unlikely to want to regularly go to a well or a river with a bucket. If it is not possible to connect to a centralized water supply system, you have to equip an autonomous one. Most often, a well is drilled on the site. Her work must be well organized, otherwise problems cannot be avoided. Installing a water pump in a well is the most important stage in its arrangement. How to do everything right? Let's figure it out.

    Preliminary work

    Choosing the right pump is important. The equipment must fully comply with the size of the well. The difference in the diameters of the casing pipe and the pump will lead to serious problems in the operation of the equipment, up to its damage. For example, with a large gap, the pump will not be able to provide sufficient water velocity to fully cool the engine, which can simply burn out.

    The documents for the equipment indicate all the minimum allowable values. They must be taken into account. One more nuance. At the joints of the casing pipes, their diameter decreases slightly, despite this, the pump must freely pass into the well. Forcible "pushing" of the mechanism is unacceptable. Before installing the pump in the well, it is worth checking the casing for possible irregularities, narrowing or curvature. The detected defects must be eliminated, otherwise they will seriously complicate the installation of the equipment and its operation.

    Installation of a submersible pump in a well step by step

    When starting the installation of submersible equipment, you need to remember that it is designed to work under water. This places special demands on the waterproofing of the system. It is important to make all connections as accurately and efficiently as possible.

    The pump installation procedure includes several main steps.

    Preparation of the pump and pipes

    First of all, you need to install a nipple or adapter on the pump, to which we will subsequently attach pipes. The nipple will provide us with a transition from an internal thread to an external one. For some models of pumps, such an adapter is included in the sales package. If there is no nipple, it must be purchased. And it is best to do this at the same time as buying a pump, so it will be easier to choose the right adapter.

    When installing the nipple, it will be necessary to make a threaded connection. For better tightness, it is carried out with winding. Plumbers usually use tow or fum tape. In this case, it is better to refuse both options. The best choice is Tangit tape or linen. When working with flax, be sure to treat the joint with silicone sealant or a similar compound. Such a connection will be resistant not only to internal pressure, but also to possible hydraulic shocks.

    We wind the coupling onto the nipple. We begin to prepare pipes. They can be metal or polypropylene. In any case, experts recommend using products with a diameter of at least 32 mm. Narrower pipes will significantly limit the water pressure, which will adversely affect the operation of the pump. We align the prepared pipe section as much as possible. This is necessary so that it enters the well as evenly as possible, without distortions. Connect the pipe to the pump.

    Electrical cable connection

    Before starting the installation of a borehole pump, it is necessary to provide its power supply. To do this, you need to connect the power cable. It may or may not be included with the pump. In the second case, you need to consult an electrician and purchase a suitable cable. We connect the prepared cable to the electrical terminals of the engine. Be sure to isolate the connection points with special heat shrink tubing, install a heat shrink sleeve on top. So we will provide the most reliable waterproofing.

    Grid preparation

    The power cable connected to the pump is laid along the pipe. Now we need to secure the well pump with a cable so that we can lower it down. It is best to take a metal cable, but a strong nylon cord is also suitable. We securely fasten it to the body using special mounting lugs for this. We lay out the fixed cable along the cable and pipe. We got a "track" of three elements that need to be fixed to each other. It is best to use special clamps for this, but electrical tape or wire is quite suitable.

    We lower the device into the well smoothly, without touching the walls of the casing pipe with the equipment

    Lowering the pump

    We fix the upper end of the pipeline to the base plate above the well, mount a check valve, if it is not on the pump, an elbow, a valve and a pressure gauge. Then we connect all devices to the water supply system. We attach the prepared suspension system to the crossbar, now you can lower it. To properly install the pump in the well, you need to ensure its smooth descent into the casing. The mechanism should not touch its walls, if this is not possible, you need to protect the case with a rubber ring.

    Installing a water pump in a well is a complex procedure. Even a minor mistake can lead to problems in the operation of an autonomous water supply system and damage to equipment. It is better to entrust the procedure to specialists who know exactly how the pump is installed in the well. They will quickly and efficiently carry out the installation of equipment and give a guarantee for its uninterrupted operation.

    Video: pump installation

    The main problem that arises before a person who has become the owner of a suburban area is providing water to his family and all its domestic needs, including watering the garden. The key requirement put forward to the source of autonomous water supply is, first of all, the quality of life-giving moisture. Water should not contain harmful impurities. It is not always possible to achieve this by drawing water from a traditional well. Wells are more sensitive to contamination and require regular maintenance and cleaning.

    Deep wells are much more practical in operation. Drilling such a well will bring the owners a productive source of water supply with healthy and tasty water. And in order to supply water from the well to the domestic water supply, it is necessary to install a sufficiently powerful pump. And you can do it yourself.

    Varieties

    Well pumps can operate at great depths. At the same time, most models are immersed in water - they are more often called deep pumping equipment. Units of this type have compact dimensions with a small diameter and a long service life. They are able to accommodate even in a narrow needle-type well (Abyssinian well). But there are also surface models that have been successfully used to pump water from wells of medium depth. All this must be taken into account if you want to know.

    The classification looks like this:

    Submersible (deep models):

    • vibration;
    • centrifugal.

    Surface:

    • self-priming type;
    • manual columns, more often used in Abyssinian wells.

    Submersible vibration type models

    These are the most economical units to date. They cost little and are absolutely not whimsical to maintain. The principle of their operation is to create a magnetic field by an electric coil, which attracts the armature of the pumping chamber and thereby creates the vibration necessary for operation.

    Advantages:

    • low cost;
    • simplicity of design and operation;
    • the absence of rotating elements in the housing, most often failing in other pumps;
    • high-quality engine cooling due to water circulation;
    • low consumption of electrical energy.

    Flaws:

    • small length of the power cable for some models;
    • engine noise;
    • it is undesirable to use the unit at great depths - the optimal value is 10-15 meters, although
    • the device is also used in deeper sources;
    • works only with water with minor impurities (up to 2 mm).

    Especially popular in Russia.

    The main purpose of vibration-type submersible pumps is to pump liquid from containers, water beds, pump out drainage water from flooded basements, and provide autonomous water supply systems with water.

    Centrifugal units

    These are universal devices designed for pumping a wide variety of liquids (drinking water, oils, acids). They are widely used in industrial production. The principle of operation of the equipment is based on the rotation of wheels with blades and the transfer of centrifugal energy to the liquid flowing through the body. There are units that are entirely dependent on water - it must be poured into the chamber before starting (the classic centrifugal principle of operation), and suck in air or a vortex type. The pump can be installed on a special raft (relevant for wells), immersed in water or located on the surface.

    Advantages:

    • good pressure at standard performance;
    • low price;
    • reliability with regular use;
    • high maintainability;
    • ease of maintenance;
    • can be installed above the liquid level;
    • use in contaminated water is acceptable.

    Flaws:

    • it is required to fill the pumping chamber with water before the first start;
    • vortex-type models are more likely to overheat the engine.

    The main purpose of units of this type is to provide irrigation and irrigation of agricultural land, connect to autonomous water supply systems, use for extinguishing fires and pumping out drainage fluid, as well as industrial applications.

    Surface pumps

    These are peculiar sissies among pumping equipment, extremely sensitive to water pollution. Household units operate on a self-priming principle and can be centrifugal or vortex.

    Advantages:

    • budget cost of many models;
    • ease of maintenance and installation;
    • low power consumption.

    Flaws:

    • increased noise of operation of models with a built-in ejector;
    • the impossibility of using standard models without an ejector at a depth of more than 7-9 meters;
    • sensitivity to water pollution (the unit fails).

    designed to provide housing with drinking water and irrigation of home gardens (gardens and kitchen gardens).

    Tools and materials

    To install the pump you will need:

    1. Special adapter for pipe connection (nipple). It has an external thread on one end and an internal thread on the other. When buying a pump, you need to clarify whether there is such an adapter in the kit. If it is not available, you should immediately purchase a nipple that is suitable in diameter.
    2. Coupling - is put on the nipple and provides reliable fastening of the pipe.
    3. Plastic clamps or insulating tape for attaching the power cable to the intake pipe (relevant for deep models).
    4. Sealant for joints - tow with silicone sealant or FUM tape.
    5. Cable (purchased if not included with the pump).
    6. Cable or rope for hanging a borehole pump inside the mine.
    Locksmith tools, screwdrivers, scissors for insulating and FUM tape, a set for the head of the well, tape measure.

    Installation process

    The installation procedure may differ depending on the type of pump.

    Installing Surface Models

    They are installed in utility rooms or placed on a bracket directly at the head of the well (summer version).

    Installation includes the following steps:

    • connecting the water intake hose to the suction pipe;
    • installation of a check valve at the end of the hose;
    • fixing the filter (mounted behind the valve).

    If an ejector is used, a system of two hoses must be introduced into the well - suction and pressure. The ejector, filter and valve are installed on the suction hose, and the pressure hose is connected to the side inlet of the ejector (a branch is used).

    Installation of immersion models

    Such units are lowered directly into the water. The size of the pump must be less than the diameter of the well, that is, it is necessary to provide a gap between the walls of the well and the body of the unit for its free movement.

    Installation consists of the following steps:

    • the check valve is screwed to the pump nozzle;
    • then a filter with a concave shape is mounted here - the device prevents the unit from silting;
    • a water pipe is mounted to the check valve (such models do not have a water intake hose);
    • the second end of the pipe is fixed on a hydraulic accumulator (if it is located in a caisson chamber near the well) or attached to an adapter - a special adapter on the well head;
    • the power cable is fixed on the pipe with plastic clamps;
    • a safety cable or rope is threaded into the brackets of the unit;
    • the pump goes down (it is impossible to hold it on weight by the cable!);
    • the pipe is fixed on the head with a coupling.

    Important Points

    In order for the installation to be successful, it is recommended to follow a few simple rules:

    The lowered pump must not lie on the bottom. This will lead to siltation of the unit. The optimal distance to the bottom is from 50 cm to one meter.

    It is strictly forbidden to hold a cable or a bundle consisting of an electrical wire and a pipe.

    The unit is suspended using a safety cable. To prevent it from getting tangled, it is allowed to fasten the insurance to the main water supply pipe using plastic clips or insulating tape.

    The type of pump and the depth of the source should be clearly defined:

    1. For a depth of 7-10 meters, a surface self-priming or submersible vibration pump is required.
    2. At a mark of 15-20 meters, vibration and centrifugal pumps, as well as surface units with an ejector, operate.
    3. Deep submersible units are used in wells from 20 meters.

    Switching on and operation

    Pumps operating according to the vortex principle (air suction) do not require filling the pumping chamber with water. Classic centrifugal self-priming models must be filled with water before the first start!

    Water in your own home is a necessity. Arrangement of bathrooms, kitchens, as well as watering the beds - all this requires a serious consumption of water. In addition to drilling a well, it is also necessary to connect a pump to it.

    Installing the pump in the well is one of the important points that should be studied before work begins. It is equally important to choose the right apparatus for wells.

    Types of pumps

    There are the following types of water pump in the well:

    • Downhole. Such devices have a small diameter. In addition, they do an excellent job in cases where the water contains impurities of clay or limestone. This variety is great for high pressures and significant distances between the water intake point and the consumer.
    • Well. The immersion of such a water pump into the well is not completely. The hole designed for water intake is designed at the bottom, the engine is cooled by liquid. Some models are equipped with a shutdown system in the absence of water.
    • Vortex. By their type, such aggregates belong to the surface. Their advantages include a relatively low price and compact size. In addition, if the water in the well contains various impurities, the vortex apparatus may not be able to cope with its task.
    • Centrifugal. Such devices are capable of taking water from a depth of up to 9 meters. Installing a pump in a well of this type has a significant advantage - there is no failure in their operation when a plug is formed from the air.

    The first two types of pumps are classified as submersible. They also need a special SQE package - an automation kit for the units. Pressure and other characteristics will be regulated by the technique independently.

    Choosing a location for a well

    Usually, professional drillers do not give clear recommendations about exactly where to dig a mine. They will find water everywhere, but in the end you will have to use the water supply. What parameters are important to consider when arranging a well?

    • The sanitary standards clearly spell out the distance from the water intake to other objects. It is 5 meters from the residential building and 25 from the septic tank. You need to decide where there will be a parking or garage, a chicken coop or other buildings for livestock and poultry. In addition, the well must be placed at a distance of at least 10 meters from the neighbor's fence. It is not uncommon for neighboring buildings to simply spoil the water, for example, as is the case with a latrine installed nearby. Keep this in mind, because even the most hermetic mine can eventually begin to let in harmful effluents.
    • On a site with a pronounced relief, it is impossible to drill wells for water in the lowlands. During the spring snowmelt, the water can be polluted by runoff. For example, E. coli is able to live in water for more than a year! Moreover, the site must be assessed by professionals. A slope of 3 degrees is impossible to notice, but it can be enough to pollute the water.
    • If there is no other way out and you have to carry out drilling work in the lowlands, before connecting the well, you need to make a high-quality drainage system.
    • Within a radius of 5-7 meters there should not be plants and trees, even in plans for the future.
    • Please note that you will also need a place where the equipment for drilling and laying HDPE pipes will be placed. The platform for access to vehicles must have such dimensions - at least 4 meters wide and at least 9 meters long.
    • Be sure to leave a spare place for another water intake. The fact is that in extremely rare cases it is possible to repair an existing system.
    • In no case should you place the source in the basement of the house! Usually they make a pump connection to the so-called Abyssinian wells. However, the water from it is suitable only for watering plants.

    An ideal place for drilling can be a free lawn, which is at the right distance from all buildings. You can hide the hatch with a small garden sculpture or fountain.

    Pump selection

    It is not enough to drill a water well, it is also necessary to choose the right equipment for it. How to do it?

    • the diameter of the device must correspond to the width of the walls of the well;
    • the pump must freely enter both the hole and;
    • it is preferable to choose centrifugal apparatus. This is especially true for deep sand mines;
    • calculate the amount of water you need. This should be taken into account when choosing such an indicator of the unit as productivity.

    Recently, the so-called smart pumps for wells have become popular. Such devices are not cheap, but their price is fully justified. The device is equipped with special sensors that respond to an increase in water consumption - an increase in the pressure of the liquid is turned on. The possibilities of such a device do not end there, you can list them for a long time. If you wish, you can learn how to connect the pump to a well in a country house or a personal plot from the video.

    Self connection

    How to connect a well to a pump? You can do this with the help of professionals or on your own. The service of the masters will not cost so cheap, so more and more preference is given to installation on their own. This is not so difficult to do if you first study the procedure.

    Consider the simplest pump circuit, which will help both in connection and operation.

    A special pipe adapter is installed on the outlet pipe. Most often it is sold immediately with the unit. If not, you'll have to buy it. A coupling is screwed onto this adapter.

    All threaded connections should be treated with a special "winding". Some use tow, but at the moment there are special tapes. If linen is used, it must be carefully treated with a special silicone sealant.

    Installation of a surface pump

    Installation of a surface pump in a well is carried out either indoors or directly above it. Connecting a surface pump to a well begins with digging a place in the ground for the device below the freezing level of the soil - a caisson.

    We start connecting the surface pump:

    • we attach the hose we need to the suction part;
    • a special valve should be fixed at the end of the hose. It prevents the water from draining back when the device is turned off;
    • the filter element is attached to the check valve. It cleans the water from dirt and sand particles;
    • the hose is immersed in the hole to the desired depth.

    Installing a pump in a well with your own hands is not difficult at all if you have a tool.

    The connection diagram of the surface device is shown in the figure:

    Submersible pump installation

    To install a deep well pump in a well, you must clearly follow the instructions. The submersible pump for wells is installed directly in the hole. Moreover, a certain gap between the device and the shaft must be maintained, otherwise it will simply burn out. You can find out the minimum distance between the walls in the instructions. How to connect a submersible pump?

    The instructions for installing a submersible pump in a well are as follows:

    • a check valve is mounted on the pump nozzle. It prevents the pipe from draining water when the device stops working;
    • a special valve is attached to the suction part that filters the water;
    • a hose is attached to the check valve, through which water will rise up;
    • the power wire to the deep pump is attached to the discharge hose using special clips or ties made of polymer material;
    • twine is inserted into the brackets of the upper part of the device body. It is on it that he will hang in the well;
    • how to lower the pump into the well? This must be done carefully and exclusively with a rope.

    Installing a deep pump is not such a difficult task, which you can handle on your own.

    The connection diagram of the submersible type unit is shown in the figure.

    Connection diagram 2

    After diving to the desired depth, the rope must be fixed with special brackets. How deep should the pump be lowered? Usually the device is fixed a meter from the bottom. The installation depth of the deep pump also depends on the properties of the soil and the level of groundwater.

    Typical connection errors

    During installation, it is extremely important to avoid mistakes that will subsequently affect the future. The most typical of them when installing a pump in a well are as follows:

    • incorrect determination of the unit suspension height;
    • small cross section of the power cable;
    • neglecting the installation of protection against voltage instability;
    • insufficient diameter of the pipe for water supply;
    • lack of a check valve in the system;
    • incorrect selection or lack of instrumentation and control automation.

    That's all. Now you know how to properly install the pump in the well. As you can see, it is not difficult to do it yourself, the main thing is to delve into all the nuances. Another tip - do not save on the pumping station. It is better to invest once and buy a quality device than to constantly repair a cheap one. And yet - before you install the pump in the well, watch the videos, which describe in detail all the nuances.

    Video

    After the drilling of a well on a personal plot is completed, and the water in the mine is completely cleared of sand and clay, you can begin the final stage of arranging an individual water supply system - installing a borehole pump. Before carrying out installation work, it is necessary to choose the right pump, as well as buy the materials and fixtures necessary for connecting it.

    Which pump is suitable for a well

    The choice of pumping equipment begins with determining the type of model. All pumping units are divided into surface and submersible: the first are installed in close proximity to the water source, and the second must be completely immersed in the liquid during operation. Surface models are easy to maintain and their cost is somewhat lower, but most of these units are designed for a suction depth of 7-9 meters. In addition to conventional surface pumping stations, ejector-type installations are produced that are capable of lifting water from a depth of up to 25-40 meters. Their design requires immersion in the well not one, but two pipes - suction and pressure.

    For deep wells, submersible models are considered a more suitable option. When choosing an electric pump, it is necessary to pay attention to the principle of operation of the equipment. Vibrating devices are not recommended to be lowered into the shaft. Installing such a pump in a well will lead to erosion and siltation of the source.

    In cases where there is a significant amount of abrasive impurities in the water, you should opt for screw or screw pumps. They do not have high performance, but are resistant to sand, clay and lime. If the water contains no more than 0.15% solids, it is best to purchase a centrifugal unit. The device of a centrifugal borehole pump allows the supply of large volumes of liquid to a head height of up to 100 meters or more.

    Many manufacturers produce models specifically designed for operation in deep wells. They are smaller in size, have protection against engine overheating, and are often additionally equipped with an electric cable and cable, the length of which corresponds to the maximum immersion depth.

    Surface pumps are easier to install and cheaper than submersible models, but they are only effective for wells up to 8 meters deep.

    An important parameter when choosing a model is the diameter of the case. It should be 15-20 mm smaller than the internal dimensions of the casing. Otherwise, the equipment may malfunction and fail much earlier than the period declared by the manufacturer. You should also pay attention to the features of the power supply of the unit. For household supply, the power of single-phase installations is quite sufficient.

    Additional materials

    The list of required materials depends on which well pump will be installed. For surface models, you will need a check valve with a filter and a suction hose to sink into the mine with a sufficient degree of rigidity. When using the ejector model, you will need to purchase two pipes with a diameter corresponding to the inlets of the pumping part.

    To connect a submersible well pump with your own hands, you will need to purchase the following:

    Cable for fixing the pumping unit in the mine. If the equipment is already equipped with a cable, you should check its length, make sure it is strong and resistant to moisture. The cord must be able to support 5 times the weight of the pump.

    Electrical cable. The length of the cable is calculated so that it does not sag, but is not stretched either.

    Pipe for connection to the water supply. Usually, the installation of the pump in the well is carried out using plastic pipes of the diameter corresponding to the outlet pipe. When choosing pipes, they take into account the distance to the water mirror: at a depth of up to 50 m, you can purchase plastic designed for a pressure of 10 bar, from 50 to 80 m - up to 12.5 bar, and over 80 you should choose a pipe that can withstand an impact of 16 bar. The pump is also connected to the well using metal pipes, but this option is more expensive, and the presence of connections between individual elements increases the likelihood of loss of tightness of the supply pipe and the formation of leaks.

    Installation of surface equipment

    Surface models are installed indoors (if the water source is located near the house) or in a previously prepared insulated well (caisson) near the mouth of the mine. The installation site must be level, it is recommended to additionally fix the unit with bolted connections.

    Scheme of installing a pump in a well

    How to properly connect a surface-type well pump? A non-return valve with a filter is put on the lower part of the suction pipe, the upper end is connected to the inlet of the pump part. Ejector models are equipped with an external unit, which is connected to the bottom of the pipes, the upper ends of the suction hoses are attached to the inlet pipes.

    The suction pipeline must be completely sealed: when air is sucked in the pipe or at the joints between the blades of the impellers of the pump part, turbulences will be created that prevent the normal pumping of the liquid.

    Usually, the connection scheme for a surface pump for a well includes:

    • expansion membrane tank for constant pressure maintenance in the system and mitigation of water hammer at the time of engine start;
    • an automation unit that starts the engine when the pressure in the water supply drops and turns it off when the pressure rises to the specified parameters;
    • filters for water purification from impurities.

    All of these devices can be purchased separately or you can buy an already assembled pumping station, completely ready for connection to the water supply system. Before the first start-up, the pipe and the chamber with the impeller are filled with water.

    The general scheme for installing a submersible pump and connecting all the necessary elements to the house water supply

    The submersible pump is connected in several successive stages.

    Preliminary work

    Before installing the pump in the well, it is necessary to carefully check the barrel along the entire length. In cases where the requirements for drilling the mine were not met during excavation, there may be narrowing or curvature at the joints of the casing pipes. If the existing defects prevent the free passage of the housing of the submersible pumping unit, they must be eliminated.

    To fix the unit, a strong steel frame should be made, which is put on the head of the well. A hole is drilled in it for fixing the cable.

    Installation steps

    Suspension system preparation.

    Installation begins with assembly: a check valve is installed on the inlet pipe to prevent the outflow of water from the system when the engine is turned off, then, if necessary, a bowl-shaped filter is mounted to prevent abrasive impurities from entering the working part of the installation.

    The assembled unit is connected to the supply hose using an adapter. To ensure tightness, it is recommended to use winding. The fastening cord is pulled through the eyelets provided in the case and is securely fastened. If the electrical cable is not provided in the design, it will also need to be connected to the device. At the same time, it is very important to provide reliable protection against moisture penetration: the connection is insulated with a heat-shrinkable tube, and on top of it - with a waterproofing sleeve.

    The pipe, hose and cable are straightened along the entire length, and then connected together with clamps or clips, making sure that the cable is located more freely

    Lowering the device into the shaft

    After preparing the suspension system, you can proceed to lowering the unit into the well. Perform it slowly and extremely carefully, trying to ensure that the body does not come into contact with the walls of the casing. To protect the device and the walls of the shaft from damage, you can put a protective ring on the housing. It is only necessary to hold on to the fastening rope, while making sure that the hose and electric cable are not too tight.

    There is little space left between the walls of the casing and the pump. Therefore, it is better to release the submersible pump into the well very carefully.

    The depth of immersion depends on the filling of the well and the recommendations of the manufacturer. Before performing work, you must carefully read the instructions. As a rule, the optimal distance to the bottom should be at least 1 m, with a lower location, the likelihood of abrasive particles getting inside the device increases. The recommended distance from the upper part of the body to the water surface is at least 50 cm. After the pumping unit reaches the recommended depth, the cable is fixed to the frame.

    Connecting a borehole pump

    Before connecting the pumping equipment, a trench is dug from the house to the well, the depth of which will be greater than the freezing depth. A supply pipe and an electrical cable are laid in the trench. If it is not possible to bring communications at the same depth into the house, the exit located above the freezing level should be well insulated.

    The connection scheme of the borehole pump is the same as that of the surface models: a hydraulic accumulator with an automation unit and filters for water purification are connected to the supply pipe, the cable is connected to the household power supply.

    Properly performed installation of the pump in the well with your own hands will ensure long-term operation of the equipment and uninterrupted supply of water to the water supply system at home. When replacement or preventive maintenance is required, the pump can be easily lifted to the surface and lowered back into the shaft.
