    Mikhail kodanev. On charges of

The suicide attempt became known only on April 1, although she herself was undertaken on the morning of March 30 or the night before. Even the defendant's lawyers do not yet know the exact time, since they received information about the mental crisis that happened to their client from the administration of the pre-trial detention center.

Until now, it was only known that when the court announced the verdict on March 30 in the case of the group that organized and carried out the murder of State Duma deputies, leader of the Liberal Russia party Sergei Yushenkov, Kodanev was not present in the courtroom.

As explained by the administration of the Butyrka remand prison, she could not bring the defendant to the trial "for health reasons." On Thursday, it turned out that it was actually a suicide attempt - Kodanev decided to commit suicide on the day the verdict was announced, as he was sure that after the decision of the jury, who found him guilty of organizing the murder of Yushenkov, the court would appoint him the most severe punishment. The court did give him 20 years in a strict regime colony, recognizing that he organized the assassination attempt, wanting to lead Liberal Russia and gain access to its finances.

But the doctors managed to siphon off the former leader of the alternative "Liberal Russia".

The information about the suicide was officially confirmed by Kodanev's lawyer Henry Reznik: "I have reliable information that on March 30, Mikhail Kodanev was not present in the Moscow City Court at the announcement of the verdict, since he was taken to the Sklifosovsky Institute with a severe mental disorder, accompanied by a suicide attempt," he is RIA Novosti.

“He has been transferred to the medical unit of the Butyrsky isolation ward, now another lawyer Yevgeny Skripilev is trying to get through to him.”

Reznik told a Gazeta.Ru correspondent that he last spoke with Mikhail Kodanev before the verdict was passed, on March 24, but refused to give any details. “Nobody will ever hear from me what is protected by the lawyer's secret. The relationship between a lawyer and a client is a professional secret, ”explained Reznik. At the same time, he made it clear that he did not notice any serious deviations in the psyche of his client at the last meeting.

After the administration of the Lefortovo SIZO found Kodanev in extremely poor physical condition, he was immediately transported under guard to the Sklifosovsky Institute. As a result of the examination, he was diagnosed with acute food poisoning, although Kodanev himself was conscious and assured the doctors that he had eaten some 40 pills. According to Gazeta.Ru sources in Sklif, the convict immediately underwent gastric lavage, after which his condition improved and it became clear that the drugs had absolutely nothing to do with it.

The suicide attempt was made absolutely deliberately: the convict, who had previously worked as a doctor in Syktyvkar, was well aware of how this is possible in a pre-trial detention center.

If you do not drink water for five days, and then eat a lot of sugar, then a diabetic coma will come.

This is exactly what Kodanev tried to achieve by eating two cans of condensed milk, which, at his request, were transferred from home, and if medical assistance was not provided on time, he could die.

At the moment, the life of the prisoner is out of danger, but, according to our source, Mikhail Kodanev, while still in Sklif, promised the doctors to repeat the suicide attempt. In addition, people who had the opportunity to observe Kodanev during the trial claim that recently he was in a serious psychological condition. He considered a harsh sentence to himself inevitable, but at the same time he repeated that he was innocent and did not deserve such a harsh sentence as the prosecutor demanded (life imprisonment). In addition, our sources claim that Kodanev decided to take his own life also because he was disappointed in the ability of his defense. He believes that if lawyers did not forbid him to communicate with journalists and did not require him to tell the court only what they thought was necessary, then he had every chance to avoid such a harsh sentence and even prove his innocence.

According to the latest official data, Kodanev was transported from Sklif to the psychiatric department of the medical unit of the Butyrka isolation ward. There he "in connection with an acute mental crisis" will be under medical supervision for at least two weeks.

Ilya Kolubelov, head of the Public Relations Center of the Main Directorate for the Execution of Sentences of the Russian Ministry of Justice, told Interfax about this. “The consultation of doctors that took place today came to the conclusion that the convicted Kodanev is in a state of acute mental agitation with suicidal manifestations,” said Kolubelov, but refused to comment on the information that the defendant was drinking poisoning.

We will remind, in addition to Kodanev, all members of the group, which, according to the jury, prepared and carried out the murder of Duma deputy Sergei Yushenkov, received various prison terms. The direct executor of the murder, Alexander Kulachinsky, was sentenced to 20 years in prison, Alexander Vinnik and Igor Kiselev were sentenced to 10 and 11 years in prison. In the near future, the lawyers of the convicts are going to appeal - this was announced by Henry Reznik immediately after the announcement of the verdict. However, in the case of Kodanev, the appeal may not be in time.

On May 8, the Supreme Court of Mordovia ruled to release on parole Mikhail Kodanev, the customer of the most resonant political assassination in Russia at the beginning of the 2000s.

In places not so distant, he had already served 15 years out of 20 allotted to him by a court decision for organizing the murder of a Russian State Duma deputy in April 2003 Sergey Yushenkov. We can say that Mikhail Kodanev was still lucky, because the prosecutor asked for a life sentence. Saved by protection in the face Henry Resnik, at that time one of the highest paid lawyers in the country.

Mikhail Kodanev - master of sports in karate, champion of the USSR.

    At the price of "African"

Mikhail Kodanev always had a desire to participate in something new and unusual. In 1988, he was one of the first in Syktyvkar to organize a cooperative to provide health services to the population. The company was called “Health”. Two years later, when there was an acute shortage of popular literature about the then outlandish martial arts in the country, he, together with the journalist of the newspaper "Youth of the North" Vadim Getmanenko published a small brochure "Karate Master". A circulation of 100 thousand copies was sold throughout the country and brought its authors a decent income.
But the first steps of Kodanev in the political field, when he tried to be elected to the republican parliament and the State Duma of Russia, were unsuccessful.
Mikhail Kodanev ran twice for the post of head of Komi. The first time this happened in 1997 (he won 8 percent of the vote). But then he was remembered not for his relatively successful result, but for loud statements. At one of the press conferences, the head of his security service accused the then republican authorities of preparing a conspiracy against Mikhail Kodanev. Even the price tag was announced - 100 thousand dollars for his murder! Even the name of the "killer" was called ...
In response, the then head of the administration of the head of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alexey Grishin made it clear that for that kind of money you can "order" the head of an African state. And here - some Kodanev ...

Mikhail Kodanev would have remained a provincial politician if he had not come into view Boris Berezovsky... It was with the Syktyvkar that his last ambitious project in Russia was associated.
After Boris Abramovich was pushed away from the “Yeltsin family” at the beginning of the 2000s, he was very offended. How is it that he made so many efforts to form a configuration of political forces that would be beneficial to Russian President Vladimir Putin, and instead of gratitude he was almost imprisoned for large-scale fraud?
The sophisticated "courtier" Boris Berezovsky saw high potential in Mikhail Kodanev. He is a general practitioner by education, and voters, as you know, love those who care about their health. Secondly, a successful athlete (master of sports in karate, champion of the USSR, in the early 80s was a member of the national team), which is also important. Thirdly, he had the experience of political struggle, was at that time a deputy of the Syktyvkar Council.
In addition, Mikhail Kodanev was outwardly remotely similar to the President of Russia Vladimir Putin... There is reason to believe that Boris Berezovsky could not fail to note this moment for himself. Why not try to confuse voters when you have federal media assets at hand with which you can significantly influence the results of election campaigns? A striking example of this is the story of the former Moscow mayor Yuri Luzhkovwhose "telekiller" Sergey Dorenko at the request of Boris Berezovsky, it was bitingly and cynically smeared on the air of ORT (First TV Channel).

    Tied up in Parma

Having become the co-chairman of Boris Berezovsky's "pocket" party under the loud name "Liberal Russia", Mikhail Kodanev did not think of anything better how to "order" his party member and serious political rival Sergei Yushenkov. And he acted, to put it mildly, recklessly, contracting some drug addicts for little money. On this I got burned. Law enforcers detained him in Kudymkar in a hotel with a Komi name "Parma".
At first, Mikhail Nikolaevich tried to present this detention as an act of intimidation of opponents of the administrative takeover of the Komi-Permyak Autonomous Okrug by the Perm Territory. But nothing good came of it, since the murderers of the deputy gave exhaustive evidence against him.
In 2012, Mikhail Kodanev, for the first time in an interview with one of the federal television channels, said that he had participated in organizing the murder ordered by Boris Berezovsky, who allegedly promised him three million dollars. However, a few months later, Boris Abramovich passed away under mysterious circumstances in his London estate. And Mikhail Kodanev with his "frank confession" ceased to be interesting.

In good standing with the bosses

Kodanev served his sentence in four colonies, the last one in Mordovia. He was characterized by his superiors positively, he had four or five awards every year. In his free time, he planted flowers, studied foreign languages, continued to write books about a healthy lifestyle ...
After his acquaintance with Boris Berezovsky, Mikhail Kodanev moved to Moscow for permanent residence. There is reason to assume that he will settle there after leaving the colony. It is possible that we will still hear about Mikhail Kodanev, who has always actively participated in public life, in the news of federal channels.

The Zubovo-Polyansky District Court of Mordovia was ordered to reconsider the possibility of the parole of Mikhail Kodanev, the customer of the State Duma deputy Sergei Yushenkov, who was killed in 2003. This decision was made by the Supreme Court of the Republic.

On January 18, the Supreme Court of the Republic of Mordovia sent for a new consideration a petition for the parole of Mikhail Kodanev, who ordered the murder of State Duma deputy Sergei Yushenkov, sentenced to 20 years in prison. Business FM was informed about this by his lawyer Alexander Martynov.

“The Presidium of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Mordovia admitted that violations were committed during the consideration of our complaint, and returned the case for a new consideration to the Zubovo-Polyansky District Court,” said the defender. Thus, according to the lawyer, the issue of the possibility of early release of Kodanev, who has already served 15 years and seven months, will be considered anew.

The Zubovo-Polyansky District Court of Mordovia on April 11 last year rejected the parole petition of 63-year-old Mikhail Kodanev. Then the court indicated that the convicted person had several violations of the order of serving the sentence and, in addition, he was registered as “inclined to escape”. However, according to the lawyer, all violations are insignificant and were received by his client back in 2010. “For example, during the repairs in the colony, he hung a clock on the wall, which was not allowed, and received a reprimand. Or he covered himself with a sheet so that the plaster would not fall on his face during the renovation. He was also accused of the unsanitary condition of the bedside table, although he is a doctor by training and is always clean, ”Martynov says.

The defense lawyer notes that then, in 2010, Kodanev received three penalties at once on “absurd” grounds in a month. “And practically everyone is registered on the professional account, and then they are removed,” the lawyer says. According to him, in general, for more than 15 years of "imprisonment", his client changed four colonies and was characterized positively everywhere, receiving four or five awards a year - about 30 in total. In the latter, colony No. 7 in Mordovia, Kodanev sits on lightweight conditions. The penitentiary administration supported the parole application.

“By nature, he is a mass entertainer: he always participates in public events, plant flowers, created a smoking room in the colony for convicts according to his own project. Now he is writing a book for the elderly about the method of healing. After all, he was a master of sports in karate in the 70s, ”the lawyer continues. Martynov believes that his client has improved. In addition, several years ago, Kodanev compensated the victims for moral damage in 1 million rubles, which he was obliged to pay under the verdict of the Moscow City Court.

The decision of the Zubovo-Polyansky court of April 11, 2017 was canceled after several months of legal battles. It was contested by Martynov on appeal. However, the Supreme Court of Mordovia on June 14 recognized the decision as legal. The lawyer filed a cassation appeal against him. But one of the judges of the Mordovian Supreme Court refused to transfer the case to the presidium. On December 14, the Supreme Court of Russia found this decision illegal and ordered the presidium of the regional court to consider the appeal of the defense. Today, January 18, she was satisfied. The case was sent for a new trial.

Meanwhile, as Aleksandr Martynov told Business FM, while the proceedings on the first judicial act were going on, six months had passed - the period when Kodanev could submit a repeated application for parole. It was considered by the same judge of the Zubovo-Polyansky District Court as the first time. On December 14, 2017, she again rejected the defense request.

Mikhail Kodanev has been in custody since June 19, 2003. In 2016, he applied for a pardon, but was not granted. In the early 2000s, he was a member of the Liberal Russia political party, funded by Boris Berezovsky. Subsequently, a split occurred in the party due to the reluctance of its chairman, Sergei Yushenkov, to receive funding from Berezovsky. Supporters of the continuation of the alliance with Berezovsky elected Kodanev as party chairman. Yushenkov, who considered this decision illegal, was shot dead on April 17, 2003 near the entrance of his house. The investigation established that it was Kodanev who ordered the murder of a political rival, paying 50 thousand dollars for this.

On March 30, 2004, the Moscow City Court found Kodanev guilty of encroaching on the life of a state or public figure (Article 277 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and sentenced him to 20 years in prison. His assistant Aleksandr Vinnik was sentenced to ten years in prison, and Vinnik's acquaintance Igor Kiselev, who found a drug addict killer, received 11 years in prison. The perpetrator of the crime, Alexander Kulachinsky, was sentenced to 20 years in prison.

Mikhail Kodanev denied his guilt. He adheres to the same position to this day. In 2012, he gave an interview to the Rossiya TV channel, in which he said that Badri Patarkatsishvili and Boris Berezovsky were the real customers behind the murder of the deputy. Now both oligarchs are no longer alive. The first died in 2008, the second in 2013.

In the city of Kudymkar, Komi-Permyak Autonomous Okrug, on Thursday night, Mikhail Kodanev, co-chairman of the Liberal Russia party from among the supporters of businessman Boris Berezovsky, was arrested on charges of "ordering" the murder of State Duma deputy Sergei Yushenkov.

Information that it was Kodanev who "ordered" Yushenkov was allegedly given by the direct perpetrators of the murder detained the day before - both residents of Syktyvkar. According to the investigation, Kulachinsky shot at Sergei Yushenkov, and Kiselev was waiting for him in the car. The amount of the "contract" for the murder of the derutat was not disclosed. At the moment, the detained Kulachinsky and Kiselev are being held in a pre-trial detention center at 38 Petrovka, writes Kommersant.

And the detained Mikhail Kodanev was today taken to Moscow and placed in the FSB detention center "Lefortovo". "Investigative actions are underway with the detainee aimed at establishing his role in the murder of State Duma deputy Sergei Yushenkov," sources in law enforcement agencies told Interfax.

The head of the regional branch of Liberal Russia, Valentina Dubrovskikh, said on Thursday morning that Kodanev and his bodyguard were arrested at about 3:30 local time (1:30 Moscow time) in a hotel room.

The security forces, numbering about 30 people, who carried out the arrest, did not identify themselves during the arrest and did not bring any charges. As it became known to "Echo of Moscow", the detention was carried out by the forces of the "Alpha" detachment, and later Kodanev was charged with the murder of State Duma deputy Sergei Yushenkov.

"The topic is simple - in connection with the murder of Yushenkov, allegedly even people have already been found who testified there that almost ordered Kodanev, that he is charged with almost a whole series of contract killings," Dubrovskikh said, Interfax reports.

In the Prosecutor General's Office of Russia already. According to Dubrovskikh, Kodanev arrived in Kudymkar on Wednesday to participate in a meeting on the issue unification of the Komi-Permyak Autonomous Okrug with the Perm Region .

Thursday afternoon boris Gryzlov announced the arrest of two suspects in organizing the murder of Yushenkov... "Tonight, a task force from among the employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the FSB and the Prosecutor General's Office detained two suspects in organizing the murder of Deputy Yushenkov," Russian Interior Minister Boris Gryzlov told reporters on Thursday.

He gave the names of the detainees - Kodanev and Vinnik (his assistant). They were detained in the city of Kudynkar (about 200 km from Perm).

The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs noted that searches were carried out at the place of residence and work of the detainees. "The searches were effective," the minister said.

Describing the detainees, Boris Gryzlov said that both of them are residents of the city of Perm. "Kodanev was engaged in martial arts and had a master class. Vinnik until recently was his assistant," added Boris Gryzlov.

    Eyewitness account of Kodanev's arrest

The detention was witnessed by the journalist of "Nezavisimaya Gazeta" Valery Tsygankov, who was in the next room of the same hotel as the co-chairman of "Liberal Russia". Here is what he said on the air of the radio station "Echo of Moscow".

"On Wednesday evening, Kodenev received a call from Syktyvkar and was informed about the threat of arrest in connection with the detention" in Syktyvkar of two suspects in the murder of Russian State Duma Deputy Yushenkov "as a customer that the FSB had given such an instruction," Tsygankov said.

"Kodanev said that he would not run away from anyone, that he could appear (to the law enforcement agencies) immediately upon the first call," the journalist added.

According to Tsygankov, at about 1 am he heard a noise in a nearby hotel room, after which they knocked on his room, "a man in a khaki uniform entered with a pistol in his hands, did not show any documents, asked about the purpose of his stay, asked not to leave the room , took away mobile phones - everything was polite, but unpleasant when they were driving a gun in front of their noses. "

Later it turned out that in addition to Kodanev, his assistant Alexander Vinnik was detained; two of Kodanev's guards were "taken away somewhere to the city, to the office, then released," Tsygankov said.

The head of the Komi-Permyak branch of the Liberal Russia party: someone wants to split the party before the elections

The co-chairman of the Liberal Russia party, Mikhail Kodanev, intended to run for the State Duma of the Russian Federation from the Komi-Permyak regional branch of Liberal Russia in the upcoming parliamentary elections. This was announced by the head of the Komi-Permyak branch of the Liberal Russia party Valentina Dubrovskikh. At the same time, "MPs Klimov and Pokhmelkin said that Kodanev will not be here," she said.

The head of the Komi-Permyak branch of the party said that Pokhmelkin did not recognize the registration of this regional branch of Liberal Russia. “He sent a paper to the prosecutor’s office and the Legislative Assembly that we were registered using forged documents, although we submitted an application to the justice authorities three weeks before Yushenkov's death signed by Yushenkov himself,” Dubrovskikh explained. “Now Yushenkov is gone, and he (Pokhmelkin) declares that the documents are forged, that we are not there, we are excluded. "

Dubrovskikh also noted that representatives of the Komi-Permyak branch of the party "have already been summoned to the prosecutor's office" in connection with the murder of Yushenkov. At the same time, she expressed bewilderment that "a search in the building where Yushenkov worked directly was not carried out."

The Prosecutor General's Office of Russia confirms the fact of the arrest of the third person involved in the murder of State Duma Deputy Sergei Yushenkov.

"Mikhail Kodanev was detained on suspicion of involvement in this murder," an informed source in the Russian Prosecutor General's Office said on Thursday. According to the source, the co-chairman of the Liberal Russia party, Kodanev, is suspected of having ordered the murder of deputy Yushenkov.

“At the moment, the investigation is working out exactly this version, and after the interrogation of Kodanev, who was detained in the Komi-Permyak Autonomous Okrug and is being convoyed to Moscow, it will be possible to speak definitely about his role,” the source said.

On the eve, it was reported about the arrest in Syktyvkar of two suspects in the murder of Yushenkov - 30-year-old Alexei Kulachinsky and 34-year-old Kiselev, both residents of Syktyvkar.

Russian Interior Minister Boris Gryzlov said that they were the direct perpetrators of the crime. Those arrested have already been charged with murder for hire - clause "z" of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

State Duma deputy, co-chairman of the Liberal Russia party, Yushenkov, was shot dead on April 17 this year near his home on Svoboda Street in Moscow.

Let us remind you that the criminal case initiated into the murder of the deputy is being investigated by the Directorate for Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the Prosecutor General's Office of Russia. The investigative group includes employees of the Moscow FSB, as well as the criminal investigation department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Moscow Central Internal Affairs Directorate.

The co-chairman of the Liberal Russia party, Mikhail Kodanev, who was taken into custody tonight, knew about the impending arrest. He announced this in an interview with the Vremya Novostey newspaper.

"I am now sitting in a hotel in the city of Kudynkar - this is the capital of the Komi-Permyak Autonomous Okrug - in anticipation of the appearance of the special services. Friends from Moscow called me and said that the FSB had given an order for my arrest. and I even now go with bodyguards. Now some people from Syktyvkar have been arrested, where I myself and most of the guys who guard me and help in party work have come from. I can say that all such insinuations addressed to me are a provocation. The names of the detainees are nothing to me. they do not say, but I myself was a professional karate, then I trained many, worked at Intourist. Half the city knows me. Maybe I even crossed paths with these detainees at some point. I am sure that they will be forced to testify that I am the customer of the murder. now it is extremely beneficial to our opponents from "Liberal Russia", Pokhmelkin and the authorities. I have been involved in politics for a long time, I ran twice for the post of governor of the Komi Republic. a truly independent "Liberal Russia", I turned to Khamit Delmaev (he is the chairman of the party executive committee and, according to Pokhmelkin, a person also listed among the suspects in connection with the assassination attempt on Yushenkov), joined the party, became its co-chairman. I have never had anything to do with any financial affairs of the party. I saw Yushenkov only three times in my life. He was always "closed" by the environment and not available for communication. Therefore, we could not have any conflicts. I am not hiding from anyone, I am in a hotel and ready to answer any questions from the investigation. But I'm afraid that as part of the investigation they decided to make a provocation against us. They found the performers, and they will make me a "customer". They can also pin the murder of Stolypin and Kennedy on me. "

The suspicion that Mikhail Kodanev would become the next victim of the detectives investigating Yushenkov's case appeared yesterday, when two people were arrested on charges of murdering a deputy, who, like Kodanev, are natives of Syktyvkar. Investigators are clearly hinting at Kodanev's connection with the detainees.

After that, a lively discussion of the news began in Moscow in political circles. The main intrigue revolved around the name of Boris Berezovsky and his associates from Liberal Russia? 2, which was formed last year after the split between Berezovsky and Yushenkov.

Yushenkov's associates in "his" "Liberal Russia" began to discuss the same version yesterday. Party co-chairman MP Viktor Pokhmelkin told Vremya Novostey yesterday: “I first heard about Kodanev at the end of last year, when Berezovsky decided to reinstate himself in the Liberal Russia party, but I am not personally acquainted with him. I was repeatedly asked about him during interrogations. in the prosecutor's office after the murder of Yushenkov ".

Pokhmelkin also noted that one of the versions of the investigation - about the possible involvement of Berezovsky in this attempt - has a right to exist. True, he could not explain exactly why Berezovsky needed to kill Yushenkov, saying only that he had heard that Kodanev, who is Berezovsky's official representative in Russia, had already become interested in the Prosecutor General's Office and he might be at large for the last hours.

Kodanev rejects all suspicions in his address. "I never had anything to do with any financial affairs of the party, and I saw Yushenkov only three times in my life. I am not hiding from anyone, I am in a hotel and am ready to answer any questions from the investigation. They found the executors, and they will make me a customer." - Kodanev told Vremya novostei a few hours before his arrest.

Mikhail Nikolaevich Kodanev was born on August 12, 1954 (that is, only 2 years younger than Vladimir Putin). Higher education - graduated from Voronezh State Medical Institute in 1981. He is currently receiving a second higher education - legal. General Director of Sever OIL BI LLC; Deputy of the Council of the municipal formation "City of Syktyvkar", place of residence - Syktyvkar. He is married with four children.

At the dawn of the cooperative movement, he organized a cooperative "Health" in Syktyvkar for those wishing to engage in a special health-improving system, the author of which was Kodanev himself. Later he was an entrepreneur. In the 90s, he was actively involved in politics, but did not associate himself with any significant parties and movements. For a long time he was the chairman of the Syktyvkar coordination council of the social and political movement "Solidarity", which had no noticeable influence on the political life of the city and the republic.

He ran for the post of head of the Komi Republic, as well as for the State Council of the republic and the State Duma. However, a few days before the elections, Mikhail Kodanev withdrew his candidacy in favor of ex-State Duma deputy Rita Chistokhodova.

At the elections for the head of the Komi Republic in 2001, 2.01% of voters voted for Mr. Kodanev. In terms of the number of votes collected, he took sixth place among eight candidates. After that, Mikhail Kodanev won the last elections to the city council of Syktyvkar and is now a deputy.

On December 7, 2002, an emergency congress of the "Liberal Russia" movement, founded by Boris Berezovsky, took place. In fact, the liberals then gathered in St. Petersburg precisely to return to Berezovsky the control he had lost over the movement. The delegates to the congress have stripped the posts of the party's co-chairs Sergei Yushenkov, Viktor Pokhmelkin and Boris Zolotukhin.

The "demoted" co-chairs, meanwhile, had expelled all the main participants in the congress from the party a few days earlier. In addition to formalizing the split in the liberal movement, the congress in the northern capital prepared another sensation for the public: a little-known businessman from Syktyvkar was appointed as the new chairman of Liberal Russia.

"Kommersant" described Kodanev's appearance as follows: "Gray hair with a receding hairline, characteristic cheekbones, small close-set eyes and absolutely Putin's manner every now and then slightly protrude his lower lip ..."

In addition, Kodanev has a black belt in karate, was the champion of the Soviet Union in the early 80s.
