To the artist - Valery Aleksandrovich Melnikov.

    An ordinary love story (autobiographical).

She was careless, he was stern. She is a balloon, he is a tank ...
She is brave in life, without shackles. He, silently to work, early.

She dreamed of being a Dulcinea, he hated Don Quixote fiercely.
Assolya, to sail with Captain Gray, he grinned gloomily, for some reason ...

She wrote poetry, he wrote pictures. She asked for love in verse.
He did not carry armfuls and baskets, he completely forgot to give flowers ...

She appreciated beauty, he is constancy, she sometimes hovered in the clouds ...

I scolded for cleanliness, but without swagger, when I was not wearing fresh socks ...

She suffered quietly, he did not see ... She always dreamed of happiness.

Not understanding what offended her, they shrank from the time of year ...

She was not particularly proud of her humility, she was proud of a dormant dream.

After dozens of years, alas, it happened: trouble crept up like a cold snake ...

The eyes suddenly darkened sharply, Soul and heart "cringed into a fist."
He did not obey, screaming his body in pain, he, as always, was calm - an eccentric ...
I was suffocating with unbearable pain, he said - dear, be patient ...
From the heat of the intolerable tossed about, repeated stubbornly - joy is ahead!

At night, waking up with her cry, he patiently served the potions.
Weeks flew by with a mournful face, he rubbed ointment every day ...
She did not have the strength to believe in a miracle, he stubbornly promised healing.
A ray of hope appeared from nowhere, like a scarlet sail, it appeared as a fairy tale.

He continued to hold her hands and help heal the soul.
She was afraid of the return of the torment, she prayed tearfully - fiercely in the silence.

One morning he sat down at his feet, looking anxiously into his eyes:
“I tried to do everything I could, I am sure that the“ storm ”is over.

Over the year, the year flew unnoticed, love strengthened the life of the "raft".

She loved him selflessly, whispering in the night - my glorious Don Quixote ...

I will sow the Light around with a magic pointer.

The seed does not emerge immediately, but the sprouts will break through.
As if the wondrous rhinestones of the soul will fill with happiness.

They sparkle in the sun, at night - the stars are bright.
Smile at the window with hot plumage.

And they will take off into the skies, renewing the wings.
No, heat - birds are more wonderful than the souls of a mirror.

Time stopped suddenly with a spellbound fairy tale.
I will draw a circle of happiness with a magic pointer!

For boys who dreamed of being in a fairytale knight's castle. For girls who wanted to visit the Sleeping Beauty Palace. For lovers of historicism architecture. For fans of Wagner's music. And just for all history buffs - Ekaterina Astafieva will tell about the famous German castle Neuschwanstein.

    Knight of the Sorrowful Image

The idea to build a castle reminiscent of the times of knights and beautiful ladies came to the mind of the Bavarian king Ludwig II. The south of the then divided Germany got a rather unusual ruler. Almost 2 meters tall, Ludwig from childhood loved to draw swans and walk with his brother Otto in nature. He spent a lot of time in the castle of Hohenschwangau, reminiscent of a medieval fortress, looking at pictures of knights. In his youth, Ludwig read out Schiller ballads and Shakespeare's tragedies.

King Ludwig II of Bavaria was a big fan of Wagner

Moreover, the king was a great admirer of Richard Wagner. In correspondence with his fiancée, he signed the hero of the opera Lohengrin, Heinrich, and assigned the girl the role of Elsa. True, the wedding was never played: having managed to request permission from Pope Pius IX for marriage (the groom was the bride's cousin), print postcards with a portrait of Queen Sofia and spend a million guilders on a wedding carriage, Ludwig II broke off the engagement. So the Bavarian king remained a confident bachelor for life.

    Ludwig II

    The King's New Toy

In fact, during his life, the Bavarian king managed to start building three castles: Neuschwanstein, Herrenchiemsee and Linderhof, of which only the last one was completed during the life of the bishop. As the people say, all men are big children, and the ruler of Bavaria was no exception. Having decided to make the childhood dream of a knight's castle a reality, Ludwig ordered to build a new "toy house" not far from his favorite childhood castle. The king chose the name for a reason: that very Hohenschwangau before perestroika was called Schwanstein by Ludwig's father Maximillian II. In the style of a castle (which, by the way, is not a castle, because it never performed a defensive function), the Bavarian king decided to reproduce not only elements of German architecture of the Middle Ages, but also features of Moorish Spain. In addition, the interior of the palace is replete with references to the works of Wagner.

    How Ludwig II moved mountains

The architect Eduard Riedel and the theater designer Christian Jank worked on the design of the new king's toy. In the first sketches, Neuschwanstein looked more like a gloomy Gothic castle, but gradually it was possible to come to the image of that very romantic palace. For his future knightly monastery, Ludwig II had to move mountains in the literal sense of the word: in order to prepare the site for the future construction, he had to lower the dolomite rock by 8 meters with the help of a directed explosion. In 1869, the foundation of the castle was laid, and construction began, which lasted no less than 17 years. Business went slowly due to the constant quirks of the king: he interfered with the work process every now and then, so that 14 carpenters worked on the woodcarving in Ludwig's bedroom for more than 4 years. The work was temporarily suspended by the Franco-Prussian war. The construction was also slowed down by the fact that the Bavarian ruler was removed from power, so to speak, for incompetence: he was declared insane.

    Neuschwanstein

Neuschwanstein was completed after the mysterious death of Ludwig II

The castle was built of bricks faced with limestone. The windows, columns and capitals are marble, while the gate and bay window are made of sandstone. It was originally planned that the Neuschwanstein ensemble would consist of 5 parts: the palace itself, the knight's house, the women's quarters, the donjon (main tower) and the driveway. In 4 years, they cope with the construction of buildings and start interior decoration. The dates were constantly postponed, despite the fact that the king wanted to see his castle ready already in 1881. In 1884 Ludwig still managed to live in his chambers, but then the ruler died under mysterious circumstances and never saw his beloved brainchild in its entirety. Nevertheless, the castle was still completed, albeit in simplified forms.

    Throne Room of Neuschwanstein Castle

Heating, telegraph and telephone were installed in Neuschwanstein castle

    Lover of Wagner and swans

For the "medieval" castle Neuschwanstein is well equipped: heating, telegraph and even a telephone were installed in the king's residence. However, many of the rooms were never finished. Ludwig II's hobby for Wagner, whom he supported financially, but was forced to expel from Bavaria because of the discontent of the population, was reflected in the interiors of the castle. Neuschwanstein's rooms are dedicated to various operas by the famous composer. The plots of the works are constantly reproduced on tapestries and paintings. And how can one do without images of a swan in the interior of a knight's palace called "new swan cliff"? This motif is reflected in the design of all the royal chambers, even the washstand is made in the form of a swan. In addition, the noble bird was the heraldic symbol of the Schwangau family, to which Ludwig II also reckoned himself. It is believed that it was the views of Neuschwanstein that inspired Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky to write the ballet Swan Lake. Also, the fairytale castle of the German dreamer king served as the prototype for the Sleeping Beauty castle at Disneyland Paris.

Neuschwanstein inspired the Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland Paris

The views of Neuschwanstein inspired Tchaikovsky to write Swan Lake

The most famous shots of Neuschwanstein are taken from the Marienbrücke suspension bridge, located near the castle. Initially, the wooden bridge was stretched at a height of 92 meters by a forty-five-meter waterfall even before the construction of the royal residence, and in 1866 it was replaced with a metal one. The famous bridge got its name in honor of Ludwig II's mother Maria.

    Description:

You know, in Mr. Tom's house, time flies completely unnoticed! Sometimes you even forget that you are sitting at a party. And you no longer think about the extremely unsympathetic forest over the lingonberry tea.

Oh oh oh. It seems that the manner of speaking in verse only clings to it! That is, I, of course, a minstrel and all that, but still I prefer to speak normally! And that is somehow undignified.

In short, this morning I went to look for Mr. Boffin with quite clear intentions to find out how many guests we are going to visit ... to visit! Mr. Bingo found himself in the fresh air sorting through his notes. All three leaves, hee.

Looking up at me, he chewed his lips thoughtfully and said:

Fialochka, you know that I wanted to write down everything about our journey, the impressions are different, the descriptions of the places we see, and, of course, of course, the people we meet! And that part of my adventures that has already happened will be incomplete without a description of this Tom Bombadil, the most curious person, unambiguously, - here Mr. Bingo was silent for a little, and so did I, because again I will start in rhyme ... - But there is one problem. Simply put, I cannot describe it in a way that would be true! Now, could you talk to him and find out something about him? And then tell me in detail. What does he love and what not, where is he from, and what is he doing now?

Mr. Bingo looked at me ingratiatingly. Interestingly, what prevents him from talking to Mr. Tom? Our host is extremely good-natured and, in my opinion, very frivolous, and generally completely his own. Only the manner of speaking clings ... So I agreed. Although, actually, I was going to ask when we are going to go further! But Mr. Bingo was so worried about his story! Eh.

Oh, it's good that you don't mind! - he was delighted. - Good luck, my friend! I hope the words will flow from under my pen when you return with the story!

Of course. They will flow like a river, with a light hand ... no, it seems I will never get rid of this. Well, okay. I will be the most famous minstrel who speaks poetry!

I found Mr. Tom in the house. Finding it is not difficult at all. The main thing is to listen carefully to where the singing comes from. It seems that Mr. Tom is incapable of being quiet! Although at night he does not seem to sing. But at night the forest rustles here, it already takes horror.

In general, Mr. Tom wandered around the largest room on the first floor, and I immediately gave him all Mr. Bingo's questions. Heap!

Hey gay, I see you are a curious little girl! So many words, so many questions from an ordinary hobbit. But questions are so, just for answers. It's more fun, of course, to look for them there. Somewhere, - Mr. Tom informed me.

Fine. And how Mr. Bingo will be delighted with such an answer somewhere! Meanwhile, Mr. Tom, jumping up and down, began to wander around me. Or circle.

Everyone is very interested in old Tom, but this question is tricky, and the answer is inaccurate.

    The bull's eye.

Here you go, perhaps ask the trees - why are they rustling and creaking of roots? Or is it better to ask the light - why is it pouring, why is it suddenly - and it is dark, what does he itch?

Great. Mr. Bingo will have to master artistic embellishments. But I still honestly tried to clarify, but what does Mr. Tom like to do?

Tom loves to walk in the woods, especially in the evening, and also - to sing in the morning, loudly and in large quantities. And the questions keep pouring in like a waterfall! By the way, shouldn't you go to the next river? There it just flows, dances, the waterfall plays, so wait under this shower - you will definitely find out everything!

Huh? .. But Mr. Tom was already jumping off somewhere into the street. It seems that I am slowly becoming obsessive from a polite hobbit.

Wait, wait !!! Should I go swimming in the waterfall ?!

Marigold showed me off with a smile, and Mr. Bingo nodded encouragingly. From the hill, the waterfall did not look like a "shower" at all. And how much roaring water! Cold!

Yes! I went there to swim. Well, that is, how, quickly swam, and back. Not a gram of understanding, I will report to you. Wet and ... wet. Marigold just giggled, and Mr. Bingo asked not to drip on his manuscript.

It's a shame, you know. And Mr. Tom was delighted.

Oh-ho-ho, soaked through? Just like Tom in the spring! A shower of droplets from clothes - with an easy soul! So you know now how many winters Tom is here - exactly as many as there are drops in that waterfall!

I didn't even want to ask anything, I wanted to dry out. Besides, in my opinion, Mr. Tom simply does not know how to answer directly! There is no way to say: “I have been living here for a very long time, I have lost count for years,” but no, but wait, under the waterfall, great, really, that's how many drops in it - so much I live! Some Zanorian fabulous musicians and bike singers could learn from.

    But Mr. Bingo asked so!

Oh, questions, all questions! And it's all about Tom! Tom takes everything bad here and does good. Take at least the Hollow Old Elm, it's all rotten a long time ago ... there is a case - you need to cheer up that Elm well! Here you go to visit him, dance a little, share the pure fun, warm up the road. And in between times - well, by asking Elm - why does Tom so appreciate all the forest animals!

And yet, I suppose, I’ll find out that the animals didn’t so miraculously eat Tom for his naivety?

Old Elm! Wow. We passed by him, when we walked here, I told, so this hollow Mr. Boffin almost grumbled, even a tree! This whole Forest is somehow completely wrong, and I don't like it at all. The park in Zanorje is different!

Lucky this time. It was a hot noon, everyone was dozing - even the blood-beggars (at least this was the only way I could explain their absence), and the Elm sluggishly rustled with branches. The water smelled of duckweed, my head immediately became large and heavy, so I even took off my hat. I felt like sleeping. But somehow I didn't want to. That is, I wanted to, but no. So I briskly jumped around the Elm, patted him on the bark and ran back.

Believe it or not, but it seemed to me that Elm was watching me with interest! And even waved the branches to the beat! But in general, there was such a ringing roast, anything you see.

Mr. Bingo was sitting under the shed in the yard and sadly watching me.

I confess that I don't understand at all where Tom is heading, ”he complained to me. - Is that what you could learn by dancing with a tree?

I expressed myself in the sense that I don't understand anything either, but it's not boring. And she ran again to pester Tom.

Hey-vey, more fun, dancing with Elm cheer everyone up! But, little girl, spend the whole day on questions - you get tired of talking, that's enough for today!

And Mr. Tom jumped again on his strange tom-business, connected with standing under waterfalls and dancing with suspicious old trees, eating hobbits for supper. And I went to Mr. Bingo.

Yes, Fialochka, perhaps it didn't work. Tom remained a mystery, and all my attempts to get answers to questions were met with jokes and nonsense! - Mr. Boffin sighed. - But maybe if he reads some of my notes, he will understand why we want to find out about him? Here you go, take these papers and show Tom. Let's see if this will convince him to open up.

I would be optimistic about Mr. Boffin! Marigold, however, is also skeptical.

Why does Cousin Bingo think Tom will be interested in his writing? - She asked me in a whisper. “Tom is not at all like someone who has time for books, if you want to know my opinion.

I don’t even know who Mr. Tom looks like anymore, so I just carried the leaves to him.

Mr. Tom took them and even leafed through them.

Oh, how lovely! Leaves that rustle wonderfully and are covered with ligature! I feel how these letters run under my fingers, how the ink dries up, keeping my thoughts! But such a funny way of Tomu is unusual, although I see the joy of memory for ordinary people. These leaves-pages are somewhat similar to a song that is sung at dawn and flies in the wind, and then they hear it again, but already at noon ...

Mr. Tom stands motionless, looking somewhere through the writings of Mr. Bingo. I wonder what he thinks about?

I am delighted, hobbit, from these pages, and from the funny-thin letters - life shines through them so much! I, perhaps, would sit with them in a corner, and you run to Zlatenika - waiting for you in the shade! Zlatenika returned for a short time from the ringing stream, even more beautiful and nicer, a real miracle!

Completely forgot! Lady Zlatenika is the wife of Mr. Tom. She's all so ... magical and sweet, and spends most of her time by her stream. It is very calm, beautiful and completely different from the rest of the Forest! It was necessary to start with questions to her, for sure she knows everything about her husband! But oh, how embarrassing.

I really found Mistress Zlatenika near the house, in the shade, by such large stone beds. She smiled at me happily. In general, everyone here is always happy to see everyone, not like some hobbits in Zanorie, we will not name names!

I see you have many questions, glorious hobbit! Tom, right, completely tortured you with his riddles and songs?

I immediately nodded, then remembered the politeness and bowed. You will completely forget about education in these forests! And in general, I complained to Mrs. Zlatenika, Mr. Bingo really wants to know more about her husband, but nothing comes of it, although in general Mr. Tom is very friendly and seems to hide nothing at all.

Violet, I think Tom has told everything that interested you ... although you do not know about it yet. Who is Tom Bombadil? He is he, and no one else. He loves to be mischievous and laugh. He will tell you to stand under the waterfall only so that you feel the water and listen to the joyful clatter of the drops. He is the Lord of water, forest and hills, and takes care of everyone living here, even if their heart is rotten and filled with malice. He tries to cheer them up, and looks for ways to ease their pain.

But this answer is too long. He - Tom Bombadil, and there is no one else like it, - finished Mistress Zlatenika and looked at me affectionately.

I returned to Mr. Boffin and Marigold deep in thought. However, Marigold did not notice it anyway, she got bored and was eager for new adventures, and Mr. Bingo only nodded thoughtfully while I tried to retell word for word what I had heard from Lady Zlatenika.

Yes, - summed up Mr. Bingo, - I think this is a fair assessment of our hospitable host. Thank you, Fialochka! I still can't believe that you really stood under the waterfall and danced with this extremely unfriendly tree, and all at my request. You are a true friend and I am glad that we travel together!

I was already embarrassed. Mr. Bingo is such a polite hobbit! And he does not forget about the sparkles, and sometimes it is terribly cute.

Yes, Tom and Zlatenika have a very cozy house after all!
