    Fish in a loaf. Fish nests

    Plus instructions for making "nests". This is one of my favorite fish / chicken dishes that I love for its tenderness and amazing taste even when cold! I do not cook it so often, but if, then .. compliments are provided, in general;) By the way, the idea of nests can be very useful for those who do not have portioned baking dishes. So, look at the recipe;)

    Ingredients for Fish or Chicken Nest:

    • (large, but not huge, I hope she explained clearly :)) - 5 pcs
    • (large) - 1 piece
    • (large) - 1 piece
    • (best of all red, or boiled chicken, this is optional) - 350 g
    • 100 g
    • 50 ml
    • (any cheese that you use for baking is suitable) - 50 g
    • (black pepper)
    • (juice)

    Cooking time: 70 minutes

    Servings: 4

    Fish or Chicken Nests Recipe:

    The first step is to put the potatoes to boil (peel them first, add salt to the water). You need to cook until half cooked (when, when you "check" the potatoes with a knife, you feel that the potatoes are no longer raw, that is, hard and "crunchy", but not quite so soft as for mashed potatoes, for example).

    The second step is to prepare the fish. By preparation, I mean baking the fish, again until half cooked, so that it no longer looks soggy, and it could be easily separated from the skin and small bones removed. Any red fish and even pink salmon are very suitable (it itself is rather dry, and in this recipe it can be very much used).

    I baked for about 7 minutes at 180 * C (salted the fish, pepper and sprinkled with lemon juice).
    As I already wrote, fish can be replaced with chicken (boiled).

    Now a master class (loudly said, of course) on making nests :) That's what a person will never guess when he doesn't have the necessary dishes :) I really don't have it, because the apartment is rented, and I can buy a bunch of all kinds very_necessary_nu_straight_without_which_the_you_don't want the shapes, because then all this happiness must be transported.

    Something I was distracted .. We need to take some suitable shape of the vessel. I had such a plastic bowl (the spoon next to it was conceived so that you could roughly estimate the size). In general, before that I used a liter jar for this purpose.

    Fold the foil in half. The folded width should be with an allowance, slightly larger than the diameter of the mold. When cutting, you get a rectangle, you need to cut it into 2 approximately equal parts. We got 2 parts at once, which will serve as the basis for as many as 2 nests :)

    We take one of them and press it tightly against the dishes / jar. You need to press down directly with your palms so that the foil fits snugly.

    Now we cut off 2 strips of foil approximately equal in width (you don't need to fold it in half). The width is equal to the desired height of the future sides + approximately 1.5 cm allowance.

    Now we are making the sides. We take one strip and wrap it around the dishes, again press it tightly.
    As you can see in the photo, I missed a little. This is what the second strip is needed for :)

    We do the same with the second strip (respectively, we eliminate the resulting "bald spot"), press it tightly. Now you can remove the workpiece from the dishes, it turns out such a garbage, in the literal sense of the word. It can be seen that the sides are moving away. But for this, we made the sides 1.5 cm wider: now we bend the edges so that the foil does not dangle from the side and does not come off.

    In the end, it turns out like this. I must say right away that everything is fine, nothing falls off and nothing falls out during the cooking process.

    In fact, it's all a matter of 5 minutes, honestly (sleight of hand and no cunning)!

    Well, now we continue cooking. The potatoes are probably already boiled, drain the water and let them cool.
    Remove the fish from the oven.

    We clean the carrots and onions, rub the carrots on a coarse grater, finely chop the onion and fry the whole thing in butter, for 5 minutes.

    The fish must be disassembled into small pieces. I have it, along the way, is already more than half-finished .. Well, and what, while I was running around with the camera, she already managed to get well (fortunately, in this recipe this is not important) :)

    To make an appetizer original and at the same time simple is a completely doable task, we boldly undertake to prove this using the example of fish baskets. They cook quickly, do not require any special costs or culinary talents.

    Recipe for nests with fish on a loaf

    Perhaps the simplest and most affordable recipe for fish baskets will be a recipe using a loaf as a base.

    Ingredients:

    • fish fillets (pike perch, pollock, pink salmon) - 600 g;
    • loaf (rounded) - 1 pc.;
    • onions - 2 pcs.;
    • hard cheese - 150 g;
    • salt, pepper - to taste;
    • milk - 400 ml;
    • mayonnaise;
    • greens - for decoration.

    Preparation

    We clean the fish fillet of bones, if any, and skin. Cut into small cubes. Chop the onion. Finely chop the herbs and grate the cheese on a coarse grater. Mix fish pieces with herbs, season with salt and pepper, you can pour a little lemon juice.

    Cut the loaf into pieces of about 2-2.5 cm. Soak each piece in milk and squeeze a little. We lay out the pieces of the loaf on a baking sheet greased with vegetable oil. We beat each piece of loaf in the center so that we get some kind of a basket in which we will spread our fish filling. Lubricate the baskets with mayonnaise and sprinkle with grated cheese. We bake a snack in the oven for 7-10 minutes at 180 degrees.
