On practice:

• Treasure Goblin will only start running after the player either hits him or gets close enough to him (~ 15 yards). Consider this as often you can first kill the surrounding monsters, and then tackle him;
• Treasure Goblin always runs DIRECTLY from the player. Therefore, try to "drive" him to a safe place or dead end;
• Treasure Goblin is not affected by paralysis (freeze) spells, stun (stuns), and other control skills. Only use skills with maximum DPS;
• When receiving damage, not only gold drops out of it, but even an object with a small chance. There were cases when a yellow thing was knocked out of a fleeing goblin with a simple blow. Therefore - if you are sure that you will kill him quickly, it makes sense to simply "drive" him with weak blows;
• Those playing in heroic mode (on hardcore) - be very careful, especially on the difficulties of Hell and Inferno: "carried away" by catch-ups, you can find yourself surrounded by a crowd of monsters and just die. Sometimes it's more practical to ignore Treasure Goblin.

How many hardcore characters will die in pursuit of this bag of money is anyone's guess.

1. Review of fast farming goblins

In a community setting, Goblin Run usually refers to finding popular and proven goblin treasure locations in adventure mode and killing the random types of goblin treasures that appear there. While you can certainly encounter goblins during regular content cleansing (Bounties or regular portals), the Goblin Run focuses exclusively on hunting them.

You cannot attack specific types of goblins or rely on guaranteed locations, so you will need to settle on a route that suits your goals and your mining style. If you are farming for cosmetic items, run at low and non-threatening difficulty - this will not affect the drop rates of items or anything else. If you're hoping for some good goblin rewards, farm on the highest difficulty you can handle while still being efficient. Below is a list of popular Goblin spawn points; you can add or change your route depending on how often you want to restart the game; shorter runs can be annoying with frequent reboots.

• Teleport to Act 1 South Highlands, cross the bridge, and take a circular walk through the area to find the clan from the Cave of the Moon. Completely clear levels 1 and 2 of the cavern.
• Teleport to Act 1 Northern Highlands, and make full coverage of the entire area - both the lower area where the waypoint is and up the stairs. You can conveniently end at the Leorica Palace waypoint.
• Teleport to Act 1 Royal Crypts, and go through this short area all the way to the entrance to the Skeleton King.
• Teleport to Act 1, Cathedral Level 2, and head back to the previous area, Leoric's Pass. Check out this very small area altogether.
• Teleport to Act 2, the Ancient Waterway and head up to the next zone, the West Channel Level 1; clear it out as best you can and do the same with the next zone, the West Channel Level 2.
• Return to the Ancient Waterway and head right into the Level 1 East Channel and all the way to the Level 2 East Channel.
• Teleport to Act 2, City of Caldea and take the adjacent zone crossing into the Caldea Sewers. Make a quick markup of this small area.
• Teleport to Act 3, Arreat Core and go through this simple area.
• Teleport to Act 3 at the level 1 cursed tower, and make a full descent down the winding staircase - including the next level 2 cursed tower area.
• Teleport to Act 3, Bridge of Corsica, and travel to the Fields. Sweep the area to find the Frost Caverns. Clear both levels.

3. Types of goblins

Farming Goblins is not considered an effective method, but it can serve specific, exclusive purposes: access to the goblin treasure realm, a Whimsydale-level Easter egg, and cosmetic rewards for pets. If you encounter a goblin, especially early in the season, or one of the rare and valuable breeds, it is generally accepted to summon him in the in-game chat and allow team members to teleport to you before starting to beat him. Consider 9 types of goblins:

• The Greedy Goblin is a basic creature type with a modest assortment of gold, gems, items, and crafting materials.
• The Stone Collector is a diamond modification, this creature exclusively throws gems of the highest quality (marquise or higher). It is very useful at the beginning of the season, but decreases its usefulness over the course of your leveling.
• The Gilded Baron is a variant with a bright yellow sheen, this monster exclusively throws you only gold.
• The Bloody Thief is a red and purple goblin who strictly leaves Bloody Shards for gambling with Kadala. The flexibility of its currency makes it useful at all times.
• The Lone Collector is a sickly green option, this monster will only contain recipes for materials and the materials themselves after death. Most useful early in the season.
• Tormentor - Painted in deep gold tones, this goblin subtype will drop a guaranteed Legendary item.
• Desirable Sire - Their translucent blue forms will split into two smaller forms twice before they die permanently, but their reward is significant.
• St. John's Wort - With a subtle purple tint to its bag and hood, this branch of the goblin family is sometimes difficult to summon ahead of time. They exclusively contain a collection of cosmetic animals, so be sure to post them if you see them.

To summarize, you will most likely do Goblin Farm for three reasons: the Whimsydale portal (for rare items), the gear / gold / materials needed at the start of the season, or the goblin abode portal (where you get a massive influx of gold and stone). There are several great ways to farm a goblin portal, but our team has identified the most optimal and fastest option, which we will share now.

• Select the adventure mode (assignment) and follow to the location of the bowels of Mount Arreat (Act 3). Why exactly there? Because this place is very small and it is made in a corridor style (without any branches). It is very convenient to look for the Greedy Goblins in this lock, and they appear there quite often.
• Having appeared at the control point, run along the road and clear the entire location. If you don't find anything, then re-enter and repeat the procedure (it takes about a minute to clean up). Among other things, there you will also find from 2 to 4 elite packs and a cursed chest.

How do I open the portal to the Treasury?

In update 2.3.0, it became possible to open the portal yourself. Open Kanai's Cube and place the Puzzle Ring on it.

What can you find there?

We recommend that you transfer all available paragon points to the gold bonus in advance. Once in the Treasury, break everything that breaks, as gold falls from everything around there. Further, after exploring the area, you will be offered to go to the Personal quarters, where the player will be awaited by Greed itself. After defeating her, you will receive a ton of treasures, some achievements and, of course, the long-awaited legendary gem

Where to farm a goblin?

1. The first and easiest way is to look for goblins in standard locations in Adventure + mode, you can combine this action with completing tasks for Tyrael's boxes. There are some patterns in their respawn and you can learn about them from the video below. All farming comes down to running through standard locations, cleaning up existing goblins and then re-entering the game to repeat the actions.
   1. There is also a call option " portal of Greed (Treasury)"right in the city. For this we need a ring. You can get it in two ways - knock it out somewhere or exchange it with Kadala for bloody shards. But there is also the third way to get the puzzle ring - in Kanai's Cuba, recipe 3 can be used to upgrade yellow (rare) items to legendary ones. This is especially helpful when you are trying to get a certain legendary ring of the ancient type... Upon receipt - if you drop it in Kanai's cube and press activation, the portal will open in Halls of GreedSome people will now think that this way you can farm well, if you first increase the difficulty level. It is possible, but do not rush, so that it would not turn out such a fail as mine 🙂 Also, to the joy of playing as a magician - dressed up all the gear to increase the gold production + hung a shoulder pad for more profit and gain experience. By the standard, I play at T6 difficulty level and before calling the portal I switched to T10. On T6, there are no particular problems with killing mobs, but on T10 inside the portal, I was disappointed, because my damage was not enough to demolish HP to the current mobs in time, and as a result, small goblins that appeared had time to escape to their portals earlier. than I killed them 🙁 And in the end, having come to the final boss-goblin, I could not inflict significant harm on him, because He has HP under 100 billion + with his punches, he just shoots. After 6-10 attempts, I spat on this case and re-entered the game on a lower difficulty T6 - as a result, the portal was gone.
      Out of grief, I went to look for goblins in the locations and randomly knocked out another of the same portal ring. This time I decided to pass it already on difficulty T6. As a result, everything went smoothly, the mobs lay down with ease.
      The conclusion from this all: if you can easily cope with mobs at your level of difficulty, then before calling the portal from the ring you can increase it by 1-2 points.
2. Also remember to get into hall of Greed portal you can kill ordinary goblins in adventure mode. The chance of opening a portal after death is small and random. Goblins do not open their portals in Nephalem Portals.
   
3. And another way to find goblins is to put on yourself before receiving a buff from the sanctuaries. This is not the first time these bracers, instead of some elite boss, summon about 10 goblins of different types 🙂

Covetous Goblins - Where to Find Them in Act 1

So how do you get to the treasury? The answer is simple - kill as many goblins as possible! Some people write that killed 100 goblins is not the limit, but we opened the treasury after killing 50 goblins approximately. It doesn't matter if you beat a goblin in Act 1 or in Act 5 - the chance of opening the treasury, in my opinion, is the same. Personally, I have opened the treasury once in Act I, once in Act III, and once in Act 5.

1. Location South Highlands

If you have opened this location, which also accidentally appears in the Southern Highlands, then you can run here too, sometimes (very rarely), at level 2 you can meet a goblin. I also attach a map where the goblins were located, of course, the goblins are located in completely different places, but suddenly these very places coincide with you.

Southern Highlands

On the southernmost highlands, goblins can be found very often, the chances are, so to speak, 50/50. No more than 1 goblin dwells there, therefore, after finding it, you can go further without going around the entire location.

2. Caves of Arana

Also very often, with a probability of 50% you can meet goblins here, if you're lucky, then more than one.

It happens that almost at the very beginning you can meet a yellow spider monster, passing next to which your hero will say something like "The spider has caught his prey." We kill the spider, and after that we open the cocoon, from which the goblin jumps out. More details in the video.

This is one of the few cases when in one location you can find not one, but two goblins. After you have killed this spider (its appearance, by the way, is not very frequent), it is advisable to run around the entire cave in search of another goblin.

3. Royal tombs

Royal tombs are very small in size and easily run around, and goblins appear there often, so it is very convenient to go there to find them.

The cathedral is big, so running around every time is not very fun. But goblins are there and quite often. Most often, goblins appeared on the 2nd and 3rd levels (it happened that they were immediately on, 2 and 3 levels). 5. Cursed fortress

It is impossible to get into the cursed fortress directly, there is no portal in it, the easiest way is to transfer to the Halls of Agony Level 2, and from there already run across the Ferry to the Highlands and to the fortress itself. It's not long to run around the cursed fortress, and the appearance of goblins there is a frequent occurrence. It was also noticed that they sometimes sit in the same places, so a map with a location here may be useful to you.

6. Bad Fields

This location drops out randomly, with a probability of approximately 33% in Bad Fields. So how do you find the Decay Crypt in the game? We are transported to the Bad Fields and determine our location by the location of the Flooded Temple portal, since its location is unchanged, but in the Bad Fields you can appear in four different places. The location of the Crypt of Decay appears only in two places, respectively, having determined your location, you can understand where the Crypt of Decay should be located approximately. I attach a map to make it clearer.

Clarification: if a task appeared on the site of the crypt with the Elder, Beast, Sickletooth, a detachment of goat-legged near the chest, or just a plug in the form of a curl, then the search can not continue.

From personal experience: out of 200 kills of goblins, only 1 portal opened in lair of Avarice and 5 portals to secret level, which can be reached without goblins, just by making a special staff. Greedy Goblin Portal Opens only in the "Adventure" mode in addition to the Reaper of Souls. In story mode, normal portals and Greater portals, killing a goblin will not open the portal (chance is 0). After killing Greed, there is a chance to drop a legendary gem Gift of a money-grubber ... This gem is unique in that it can only be 1 per account and only drops from the final boss in the Treasury. An example of this stone in the Ring of Greed *:
